Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

At what point this week can we be at peace?

This uncertainty is ki-ling me. Folks on this thread have talked about 13% of the workforce being RIF'd, multiple teams expected to be impacted and most of it being initiated today. Yet, not many have said a word about receiving that uncomfortable meeting invite. Just 1-2 people have confirmed getting it.

At what stage in this week can we breathe a sigh or relief? When will we know if we survived this round or not? Or were people simply trolling or exaggerating the numbers?

The uncertainty and anxious waiting period is worse than just knowing you're impacted!!

@a4 This is not unique to FIS. I have several friends and family across geographies and industries that have been impacted over the course of the last year, and still ongoing.

This round will be mostly dev / CIO resources. I’m at the end of my rope. Takes months to get anything back from legal. Impossible to get any managerial support from TPO. Product is awful. Support is struggling. PS is always left holding the bag for the deals that sales and product are dumping out. And now they’re cutting developers. My guess is that they’re heavily cutting costs ahead of product consolidations/divestiture, with the assumption that whoever is left over will have the skillset, or any soul or motivation left, to support the new business.

The company will conduct reductions in force (RIFs) each month. There is a targeted headcount reduction that must be achieved based on forecasts designed to demonstrate that operating expenses are being managed and financial controls are in place.

For this round, approximately 90% of impacted employees will be notified by Thursday of this week, with a small number of notifications extending into next week due to colleagues being out on PTO.

Going forward, colleagues should expect RIFs around the same time each month. However, this month’s reduction is expected to be larger than usual, with a higher number of colleagues being affected.

It will never end. Leave the company. This is going to be ongoing every 2-3 months.

@a5 I guess people with managers out of office today might not know until the last second.

I believe tomorrow (6/23) is the notification day. Meetings usually get scheduled later in the evening for tomorrow morning
