Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Sep vs Oct vs Nov vs Dec

I am pretty sure there is something in the rebadging contract which is making to get delayed . Is the vendor not okay to rebadge all or want everyone as individual contributor or what is the expectation? We are making a guess of Deloitte vs HCL vs Infosys vs bla bla but are the vendors ready to accept everyone or they just need 50 percent of current headcount and rest will be fired ?
The level of anxiety is too high such that any person who is in loan repayment or in debt trap , it is such a huge mental stress . I know it is simple to say , try outside but considering the current market condition , getting a job is not that easy as it was early especially when the hiring companies are clearly segregating, this resume is from VZ

Changes in H1B policy may be the monkey wrench. Infosys and other bottom barrel companies may be thinking they need to raise prices. The obvious plan is to release rebadged people after the mandatory retention period and replace with cheapest possible (i.e. h1b from fake diploma mills). If those people are now cost prohibitive because of increased fees it breaks their business model.

They are waiting for Apple launch to be done to avoid disrupting the rollout. Just that simple.

Why does VGS keep coming up? We all know it is a dead issue, even back then. I want to know what is happening now, for real, and what it will mean going forward. Keep comments relevant to the current situation please.

Same thing happened in 2018 and people were supposed to be off the VZ books by Oct 31. Didn’t happen, then Nov 30, didn’t happen, finally it was 12/30. I’m sure the same is happening now.

It’s basically VGS all over again. Cybersecurity wouldn’t hand over the data access needed to offshore the work, so the grand VGS vision quietly died—followed by the remarkably well-timed “retirement” of most of its leadership. Now there’s a new CISO, so maybe the board finally gets the outcome it’s been chasing. The latest delay is curious, though. Perhaps Finance is tied up with another mission-critical round of font changes, color palettes, and executive deck beautification. Either way, expect the leadership carousel and perpetual reorgs to continue until the MSA value prop is finally forced into existence. Nothing says “clear strategy” quite like reorganizing everyone until the strategy works.
