Sales have been in a steady decline for several years. Customers are buying less, spending less, and coming back less. Our foot traffic has halved in the last 12 months. I was certain we'd be closed in the latest wave, and yet we're still here. How bad is it in other stores if we're still standing?

@a6 While this gets downvoted to he-l, it's technically not far from wrong perception wise. The biggest people at Nike that hates GT is GT Leadership it feels like. And if that's the feeling that the employees within GT have think how our stakeholders and customers must feel about us.
@a6 too funny
@OP it’s because it’s not just your door. It’s hundreds of others. The shops will not have a middle in the short term. Fail big or succeed big. They have shuttered 33 locations in the last two weeks. The .com and internet aren’t making it easy on anyone. Our hiring process and practices aren’t making it easy on stores. We don’t value experience and hard work. Retail is a mixture of true labor and intentional leadership. Both from managers and athletes who work in the front lines. I am sure you know them both well. Lazy leaders and athletes. Zero connection to the brand. Just a job. Pay check. This job to those who have been around a long time is a quest and a purpose and are good with the role and labor outputs. We take it personally when we don’t win. That is the strategy. Not losing. But Nike likes to punish those who hate losing. Questioning up on what we are doing is a no-no. It will lead to making your at-will employment a reality. Yes there is strategy and long term planning, but make those changes in the business. Not cut leadership who just follow directions at the store level so we can make our store beautiful and have great SOLE interactions. The company is in a bad place. When it trickles down to a DTC store level it’s very hard to feel good about what’s happening. The outlet and factory stores are likely getting a sweetheart deal on rents right now after big negotiations so it’s helping a lot. Good luck.
@a6 Imagine acting like GT owns the company. Last I checked, Nike sells shoes and apparel not software licenses. Retail employees are just as much a part of the business as anyone else. Maybe lose the superiority complex.
Sir, this forum is for Global Tech, we can’t be bothered by your store problems. We need to investigate why Global Tech is so bad and how it’s ruining Nike.
