Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T (T) — Price Return Under John Stankey (July 1, 2020 – June 22, 2026)

John Stankey became CEO on July 1, 2020.

AT&T stock then: $23.40
AT&T stock today: $22.01

Nearly 6 years later, the stock has delivered a -5.9% total return, or about -1% annually.

Adjusted for inflation, the stock is effectively worth about $17.60 today, implying a ~25% loss over his tenure.

Six years of “leadership”.
Negative returns.
Ongoing talent loss.
Rock bottom morale.
Bottom of the barrel rankings in culture, best places to work, AI readiness, talent, etc.

At some point, you stop arguing about intent and start looking at outcomes. This guy S U C K S !!!

@OP
The numbers su-k but to be fair you also have to adjust for the warner brothers spinoff and the dividends (if reinvested) in that time period. A 10k purchase in 2020 is about 13-14k today. Still su-ks compared to market return but not a loss.

About the 8th time this same info has been posted.
JS is still here and he is not going anywhere.
He owns the BOD, so he will probably be given another 5 years after age 65

If regular employees had those kinds of results year over year, no doubt they would be fired!

No questions asked!

You are right on OP. One would tend to believe there should be some accountability. If he were a coach in the NFL or NCAA (or for that matter HS), JS would be looking for another job.
