Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

July Layoffs (July 8 or July 15)

Based on prior layoff rounds, it seems it often occurs on Wednesdays.

With Citi scheduled to report Q2 earnings on July 14, my assumption is that any July layoffs would likely take place on July 15 (or July 8).

Similar to how the June 10 layoffs were being discussed here roughly a month before they happened, has anyone heard any rumors regarding potential July dates?

I personally have put in for a volunteer layoff in hopes of getting a decent severance package. Not to wish ill upon others but for myself, I hope I am chosen so that I can leave.

I am a slacker at 388, nobody notices because they are too busy. Isn't that ironic? call me I don't answer (they do), email me twice and ping me when I am late for a zoom call. No RIF. Maybe if I complain about the rainbow flags all over the place?

I believe I saw two or three restructuring / realignment announcements in the past 2-3 month.
next 3-4quarters will be turbulent

@OP

One has hit the nail on the preverbal head. Without pontificating further, my transcendent, sagacious helmsmanship led to the affable conclusion of the consent order by June 30. Without dilly dally beyond this prodigious accolade, citi will target the nebulous and nefarious slackers that hide in plain sight. The quintessential rif will be their award for their skullduggery. With prevarication, the said event will be triggered at the time of the earnings call to permit your interlocutor utilizing the perpendicular pronoun to bask in the adoration of their peers. whilst you unwashed masses seek alternative employment at McDonald’s or where ever you filth frequent.

But seriously, consent order conclusion will create 10% cuts in most teams. But edo and consent order dedicated areas will be hit much harder. We’re in the quiet before the storm, we’re being kept on in case the sign off package is rejected. Then we’re useful for as long as it takes to resolve.

in the past layoffs we're taking place around earnings release.
I heard about July layoffs targeting D/MDs back in January. but a lot of directors have already been laid off, sent into retirement, stripped of title, demoted.

I haven't heard anything about July, but you are 100% correct in your assessment. Citi seems to do their layoffs on the second Wednesday of the month, and in either the last or first month of the quarter. My gut feeling is that this will continue until January, 2027.
