Linked in is annoying , just a-s kissing galore. lol
Unless you hit the lottery. No need to burn bridges. Leaving on a classy note sounds much better than jilted post.
they need to justify the open to work sign next to their profile picture
Being upset about being booted from your job doesn't mean you can't be thankful for the opportunities you were given and sharing them. If you want to avoid cringe just stay away from social media. Like it or not linkedin is good for networking (aka knowing someone who can help you with a job later or vice versa) without being too "friend-y" like facebook. Stop being angry at someone's positive attitude (that isn't related to a MLM) and go get some fresh air.
LinkedIn is the habitat frequented by those that have sold their souls and replaced their brains with corporate candy cotton…literally nothing of value that isn’t motivated by self-promotion or a selfish agenda is written on there
I showed up every day, worked with genuinely good people, and had the chance to move around, learn new skills, and take on new challenges. I was paid well—actually paid based on performance. The harder I worked, the better my reviews, the bigger my bonuses. That job is the reason my wife and I own our house, why we’ve been able to take real vacations, and why our dogs eat better than some people I know.
And now that layoffs have hit, we’re walking away with a solid severance package, payout of restricted stock units, continued healthcare, STI eligibility, and several weeks of pay while we transition.
It’s not perfect, and I’m not here to defend every decision the company makes or drink anyone’s Kool-Aid. But some of the expectations I’m seeing—that a corporation owes you lifelong security, endless gratitude, or some kind of moral immunity from business reality—are just not rational. This is still one of the better outcomes you’ll ever get when a big company has to cut heads. Perspective matters.
No idea what you are talking about. I find a lot of value in our ex leaders words of wisdoms. Best example of this is Tami Erwin's word salad and pictures of pies she made. Delusional.
@OP I agree. Gross. Very vomit-inducing. But LinkedIn just su-ks these days. Just pathetic. It’s becoming nothing more than a device for so-called content creators. I’m returning next year and it will be a big relief never to revisit LI again!
Agree…it’s like they all have the same format. “During my time at Verizon, I was able to…”
The Verizon name doesn’t quite carry in the job search as much as people in Verizon would like to believe, especially now. And unless you’re going to go stay in telecom, it feels like having work for a dinosaur at this point, and a very unhealthy dinosaur at that.
They're smart to let others know they're leaving Verizon and are now in the job search mode.
Also, there's nothing wrong with being thankful the opportunity they had to work at Verizon, including the good memories they had of working with people and projects they were a part of.
That's really a large part of life which constantly changes and people coming in and out of your life.
LinkedIn is the the most fake social media there is. It's ridiculously stupid. People type words but they don't equate to anything tangible. "Had a great training session...." "So good to see the team in XXXXXX, it was more than a meeting, it was a connection".....cr-p like that which makes you throw up in your mouth a bit. And people actually respond to it!!!!
…. Land a new job.. damn you AutoCorrect!
It’s cringe, but they are posting because they want to leverage their networks to learn a new job. Not a good look to express negativity on public social media. On the inside, I’m sure many of them are feeling extremely angry, betrayed and anxious
