Does anyone know the wave 4 technology date? I heard it was October but I don’t know if that is the 14th or 28th.

@OP How many waves are there? Indefinite or a predetermined fixed number say...7?
Thanks!
@k2, I’m not arguing with you, but it has yet to play out. I would agree that it makes sense if it was thought of, but if you look at the data it literally has not come to fruition. Same posters try to drum up fear/hopes around the bonus eligibility, 401k and EOY budgeting. But no appreciable difference in the layoffs.
Now I could see a case being made if Wells front loaded layoffs with high earners at the beginning of the year, that way any eligible bonuses and matches would be on the lower end. But mega-corps play the long game. You get down into those weeds and it’s half Pennie’s on the dollar, the effort doesn’t outweigh the gains. 6% of an employees salary max, that’s nothing.
Generally agree, but considering the heaviest layoff activity the last several years has taken place in the spring / summer, and it's lightest at the end of the year and into January, it's not outside the realm that the match is a general consideration. Maybe not at the tactical level, but as a general rule the timing would make sense.
@gz It's 100% Q4 2025. You don't know what you're talking about.
Yes Tech has defined Waves. No, Wave 4 is not this calendar year. It isn’t slated to occur until end of Q1/early Q2 2026. And wells gives no F’s about the 401k match. They aren’t going to, and have not in the past, spent dollars to save those pennies on 401k’s.
it will be the 14th to ensure you do not receive your 401k match. are you new here?
Does tech really have defined / named waves? 5 years from now, what parts of tech will still be domestic? Any?
Im wave 4 and hoping for the 28th to get match. Wish me luck.
I know at least two people that are slated for the 28th, but who's to say they won't split it up across multiple days/weeks. I don't think it will be the 14th because that's just before 401k cutoff and I doubt they'd have some people getting the 401k match and some not. But who knows, it's all a guessing game.
