@13b There is no doubt that every organization would benefit from competent management. The topic of this thread however is "January layoffs", not incompetent management.
Bank has great tech...not. Bank should be sold to a company that has competent management.
@OP I'm hearing there will be no tangible tech layoffs until March.
Tech is way over budget (and will be for years) and the quickest way to lower costs is to cut heads. Early in the fiscal year is the best time to realize the savings. Consultants are more expensive but are under a different budget line and lowers the overall labor cost compared to a full-timer. It’s accounting math.
@ce brilliant! For more money too like when we hire consultants?!? Nuts!
They will just hire temps to replace FTE's.
