It's never the ones you expect to see laid off

Layoffs don’t follow the rules you’d expect. High performers, long-timers, new hires, all were let go without clear reason. It seems decisions came down to spreadsheets, not people. The takeaway is that job security is an illusion. If your role gets... — read more

Could this be true?

One thing that all open text employees should know… There is always a current RIF list (Reduction in force) sitting with with the EVPs. Names are added to, and taken off pretty much at random. Does this mean it's possible to volunteer?

MOGA movement?

“Make OT great again (MOGA)?” Yeah, nothing screams greatness like surprise layoffs every other quarter. Really visionary stuff—if the vision is a revolving door. To my fellow ex-OpenTexters—you weren’t the problem. You just got caught in the... — read more

my feeling about today's massive layoff

I believe today’s layoff is a poorly timed and misguided decision. With the stock market showing signs of bottoming out, this is the time to invest and grow—not pull back. These unnecessary cuts are demoralizing and ultimately counterproductive. — read more

Has today been the main impact day?

I know this is supposed to last the whole week, but it seems that today was the main day (even bigger than yesterday) and maybe the following days will be just for the people who are on vacation/sick leave/etc.
