Retail Employees

We don’t hear much from you on this site. I would genuinely like to hear what it’s been like for you working during the pandemic and if the pay/career growth/leadership complaints of corporate employees resonates with you

Why do ETW’s continue to be ETW’s?

I have a question for ETW’s and it’s a sincere one. I’m not trying to be smarmy in asking this question. I see many of you complain about the fact that you’re ETW’s and that you can’t find a FTE job at Nike. I can understand how that would be... — read more

Strategic resilience during the pandemic

I’ve been thinking a lot about it, but I don’t know if Nike could have had a better strategy during the pandemic. I'd love to hear what you think about it.

Nike home affordability? How do you do it.

As an ETW in technology ( long term) how do you guys/gals afford a house in the " silicone forest". I make under 70k a year ( planning on leaving Nike due this reason) and even with 20% down. Nike's wages leave me on a fixed income with a house of... — read more

All of us, we need to tell the truth

As much as we are scared, we need to tell the truth. It's time. Even if it's just here. Do it. I'm tired of being afraid of being fired or made an out cast. Most assume I'm a sl-t and I'm not. You assume it's consensual, but it's not. It's not... — read more

More Covid time?

Should we get more? A lot of families are getting it a second time and/or their child care is closed once again. Anyone have pull to make this happen?

Nike is still among the best

Either we all are having an opposite experience to the majority of employees or HR has been working really hard to push up those numbers, but Nike is once again among the top 50 best places to work for on Glassdoor. How it still ranks that high is... — read more

Company for pretenders

The more you pretend and the more confidence you have, the better. If you plan to achieve something only with your work, you will hardly make it. Sometimes I get tired of pretenders and their overly confident appearance until their results speak... — read more

Benefits could be better

Agree? Don't we deserve better benefits? I’m not saying I’m dissatisfied, but some competitors offer better benefits.

NA Lack of Experience and Leadership

Will we ever get leaders with the right experience and strong leaders? MW leaning in for a first mile capability leader is frustrating. She’s disorganized and has zero idea of what she’s doing. What happened to trade and transportation in NA? GT is... — read more

My New Year's resolution is to start job hunting

Only, I'm not going to wait for the New Year to get on with it. I've already updated my resume and LinkedIn and I've sent out a bunch of applications. I'm hoping to be out of Nike before summer. Even if I don't find a new job, I've tightened my... — read more

Is it easier now than ever to get a job here?

Basically, it’s none of my business, it doesn’t affect me much and it makes me happy when someone gets a job. However, I can’t help but notice that the quality of the new hires, my new colleagues, is far below what it used to be. I would swear that... — read more

Busy work

I used to love my job and I knew what I did was important. Call me crazy, but I enjoyed knowing that what I did made a difference. Now, most of what I'm doing each day is busy work. Each new round of layoffs I expect to be affected - and I hope I... — read more

How long did it take for the enthusiasm to go away?

I would be lying if I said that I was not thrilled to get a job at Nike. I celebrated when I got the offer. That was supposed to be my dream job. I thought I would want to work here for a long, long time... However, the enthusiasm disappeared in... — read more

THANK YOU NIKE

They made the right decision in delaying the return to work. Overall I’m happy here but have been critical lately of this policy, plus remote work. It could have happened sooner, but glad leadership realized this was the safest option.

Nike employing same tactics as Microsoft.

Found this gem on Youtube. Microsoft hired temporary workers known as " Permatemps" from the early 90s to mid-90s. A group of contractors sued Microsoft and won successfully in court. The court (9th circuit) held that Microsoft was treating... — read more

There is no logic to the way things are done anymore. Instead of making decisions based on market research and in-depth analysis, everything we do is based on the opinion of whoever is the most important senior person in the room when decisions are... — read more

If you're new at Nike

Don’t miss Nike, lol I miss the discount

"religious" accommodation

Turns out, Nike employees can receive a "religious accommodation" as a workaround to the vaccine mandate. No questions asked and you get to work from home until April.

Time to Take a Virtual Knee on these Mandates!

Just because the majority of people are afraid and want something it does not make it OK to force the minority to do something that they don't want to do! Where is the respect? What makes me think that I know what is best for everyone? Where does... — read more
