Last week, I had the honor of attending not one but two Work Forward Engagement Hub kick-offs in Alpharetta and Irving. To say that it was a blast wouldn’t even begin to cover these incredible events.

First and foremost, I have to thank Shawn Alexander and Phillip French for being truly exceptional Hub Leads. They embodied the pride, passion and inclusiveness we need across all our work locations. I also want to thank their teams because these events are a true collaborative effort and reflect what makes the V Team the best in the business.

Through Work Forward, we set the foundation for our future of work and built new ways of working to deepen how we connect with each other and drive our business forward. Our workplaces should be magnets, an environment that fosters collaboration, promotes belonging and inclusion, and sparks innovative thinking.

From an all-out dance and volunteer party in Alpharetta to tech demos and a big show of Texas pride (and a silver boot!) in Irving, I had such a great time. But my favorite part of these engagements was seeing how happy and excited people were to connect and be together.

Because being together means something more. Now it's a feeling. It's tangible and all around us. And we feel it at Verizon. Over the past few years, we have developed an even greater understanding and appreciation for what matters most — our people.

No matter where you work, in an office, at home, in our stores, or in a garage, let's hold tight to that sense of togetherness — it defines us as the #VTeam.

VZ's EVP: Strategic Planner
This week, we brought Verizon’s top leaders together for our June Leadership Forum to discuss the state of the business, our company priorities, and how we’re executing our strategy. Market changes might require us to adapt, but our strategy remains the same and our execution is critical to achieving our goals. It was great collaborating with our leaders across the company on how we move our business forward. Our #VTeam is the best in the business!

Verizon lost a ton of talent in 2015 when they axed the areas and reorged. They lost many more when they threw even more money at the best and brightest they had with the VSP.

Now with the lowest unemployement rate in over 50 years, this old telco finds itself talent starved and either failing at finding new streams of revenue with huge failed flops of aquisitions like AOL, Yahoo and On Cue. To horrid jokes of new products like Go90, Verizon Connect with its signature HUM piece of junk and a flacid attempt at mobile advertising with Oath. Lets not forget wireless, its cash cow is flat at best on good quarters and retracting at worst on bad quarters. Wireline and FiOS are in decline and are outrageously expensive to maintain.

It amazes me this joke of a company has not gone bankrupt. It continues to exist in spite of its best effort to commit economic s–c-de.

So I ask you this: Is it any surprise they are trying to get back the talent that made them what they were are their peak in 2015?

I say to Verizon after burning so many good employees and customers: Eat $hit And Die.
