VBG Engagement Visits?

Team was told someone from the “engagement” team would be in office and to expect 1:1s. Sure enough, we individually got invites and the premise of them seems to be “to improve the employee experience & business.” That all sounds great but I am genuinely curious what sparked this (given most feedback has fallen on deaf ears for the last 2yrs).

Has anyone else participated in these as of late? If so, what were the promised outcomes and how did the sessions go?

Last week, I had the honor of attending not one but two Work Forward Engagement Hub kick-offs in Alpharetta and Irving. To say that it was a blast wouldn’t even begin to cover these incredible events.

First and foremost, I have to thank Shawn Alexander and Phillip French for being truly exceptional Hub Leads. They embodied the pride, passion and inclusiveness we need across all our work locations. I also want to thank their teams because these events are a true collaborative effort and reflect what makes the V Team the best in the business.

Through Work Forward, we set the foundation for our future of work and built new ways of working to deepen how we connect with each other and drive our business forward. Our workplaces should be magnets, an environment that fosters collaboration, promotes belonging and inclusion, and sparks innovative thinking.

From an all-out dance and volunteer party in Alpharetta to tech demos and a big show of Texas pride (and a silver boot!) in Irving, I had such a great time. But my favorite part of these engagements was seeing how happy and excited people were to connect and be together.

Because being together means something more. Now it's a feeling. It's tangible and all around us. And we feel it at Verizon. Over the past few years, we have developed an even greater understanding and appreciation for what matters most — our people.

No matter where you work, in an office, at home, in our stores, or in a garage, let's hold tight to that sense of togetherness — it defines us as the #VTeam.

Pffff Gallup polls keep asking what can make the employee experience better? Lmao How bout hiring competent people in this company. Stop trying to make this an operational buss terminal. I can’t think of not one company that runs their network with so many micro-managed groups. It’s unbelievable. All these years … let’s give the unions less … let’s outsource this component… when they could have been effectively training and delegating the responsibilities to ONE group pffffffftttt STUPID!!!!!
