severance
not sure what is going on with severance. I haven't signed my agreement yet. Looks like a check was issued to me for two weeks of my regular pay today. Will wait and see if it actually shows up in the mail.
Oh that's the only uncertainty?
NO S***! What a brilliant strategic mind she must have! So she's been on the board 10 years - that means she's also responsible for all the missteps the company has taken. Oonly difference now is she gets to steer the boat directly aground rather... — read more
Disagree 812
ML has been on the Follett board of directors for approximately 10 years. All major capital projects have to be approved by the board. There are no surprise - she has full knowledge of the state of the company as a whole and her strategic plan is on... — read more
Severance pay
Did anyone that was terminated receive their severance pay that was promised on the pay check for today Nivember 22, 2013?
@812
You nailed it on the head. Almost all of the people sticking around are the yes men/women that have been at Follett forever or only at Follett and the cruisers that don't have a whole lot of other options. The good lower level employees won't stay at... — read more
You are on to something
Management came in guns blazing, realized too late they are over their heads, the problems were bigger then they had assumed, and painted themselves into corners by making to many promises to the board and ML. Now they are stuck. Malinvestment in... — read more
Madness!
Don't think that those of us left "employed" are not at all paranoid. We're just waiting for the other shoe to fall. Whatever. I've been at other employers who have gone down and this place has the stink of death upon it. Where is our bonus... — read more
Rehire issues
Although it's not ideal to go back part time, has anyone else applied for part time positions and have found it hard for your manager to get you hired? As many of Follett spokesmen have said to the media, "they (those laid off) were offered part time... — read more

Why is 649 clueless? Please explain and elaborate why this company isn't sinking further and further down by the day.
@Anonymous649
You are clueless

There for show but no real importance or substance.
Mr. Heat lol
Mr. Heat is a total joke. The number goes to HR and then to your regional. Depending on whom your HR rep and regional were/are the entire world would know about the issue. it is not anonymous by any means. I had employees call Mr. heat for issues... — read more

Follett Values
So what happened to each and every associate? I guess new mmanagement doesn't value this value
No Issues With Previous Management
I don't have any issues with the previous management. Follett had no debt and was profitable. Follett will continue to have trouble competing with Amazon and other online competition that they never faced previously. I agree with Anonymous 649. The... — read more

MORE LAYOFFS!
Contracts?
How can they close stores if they have contracts. I heard somewhere it costs Follett thousands of dollars to back out on a contract
FOLLETT SHIP IS SINKING AND MANAGEMENT HAS NO IDEA WHAT TO DO!
They are going to sell this company. MARK MY WORDS I SEE IT COMING Layoffs were 1st and more layoffs after spring rush and then closing of stores that not profitble, to make the portfolio of the company look better for potentional buyers.
Follett layoffs?
Let's call it like it is, a termination. Layoff leaves the impression that this is temporary, by no means is this temporary. The powers that be picked up the phone and became judge, jury and executioner as they read from their scripted letter and... — read more
@632; dropping the allegation of slander is poor form
