Are experienced hires really looked on as 2nd class

Pulling a comment from a previous post. Do people really see experienced hires as 2nd class employees? I haven’t seen it yet but I’m fairly new and have only worked with a small group of people so far.

Health insurance canceled during PIL

Hey y’all, I accepted the PIL in early August. I was told that my medical insurance would last for three months because I’m technically still an employee but I just found out that the company actually canceled my insurance on the 31st of this month... — read more

XOM Recruiting and Recruiters Speil

After dumping off a lot of our colleagues of the payroll via disguised PIPs and Layoff, it seems we are recruiting back again, mainly overseas. Curious to hear what our recruiting teams and recruiters are selling to college and experienced hires... — read more

What’s REALLY my potential?

Appreciate some advice: I’m a CL 25 on the downstream engineering “B” salary curve, consistently ranked in the top 2 quintiles, YEE 10, and 159K salary. I’m expecting a promotion to 26 this year and may move to the upstream “A” curve which could... — read more

650 union workers locked out by the company, fires, injuries, tired EM employees. Why are you all not speaking up? Why do you let the company treat you like this ?

No direction, no power to change that

How did we end up with such horrible senior and executive management that completely lacks direction and seems powerless to do anything of consequence that would right this ship? Maybe having too many levels of management altogether could have... — read more

This should apply to everybody

When does L3/L2 management get held to the same PIP / MRLP criteria of 8-10%. This has to be asked again and again and again. This is where the real fat is and this is what would provide the most savings while affecting the operations and... — read more

L!nked in - what’s going on?

Folks leaving posting - I can understand. What’s up with the folks who are still with company, commenting and liking the posts?! Are they suggesting I am so good that I can wish people well and my boss would like that aspect of me?! Also what... — read more

Are you people for real?

How can you be working in O&G for years or even decades and not have developed a thicker skin by now? Some of the complaints I see here are both sad and laughable. Some are valid, especially relating to PIPs, but most are about somebody's feelings... — read more

Not all in this together

One of the reasons people are so upset is the glaring difference in employment experience between the masses and HiPos. HiPos continued to receive salary increases and promotions while not worrying about their employment. Remember being ranked high... — read more

Clinton Chaos, is this it?!

If you’re from the Clinton site you already know what’s happening, if you’re not, long story short, there’s a new swimming pool in the basement. Is this the final nail in the Clinton coffin? YL is probably hyperventilating thinking of repair costs... — read more

PiP to PiL conversion

Layoffs and PIPs are not the worst of it for me

It's the constant boredom I feel at work lately. Always doing the same thing the same old way. Heaven forbid we try to change something, even if it's for the better. Can't have that! That would mean managers would have to learn something new as well... — read more

Most managers do care about low employee morale
