Anyone ever challenge their ranking?

Definitely not in the worst position ever but wondering if anyone has ever challenged their rank group or if it’s even possible? I (along with many others) was represented by a wet noodle of a boss this year who was not able to describe to me why I... — read more

The biggest drivers of attrition

Attrition seems to be higher than ever (I can't say it's the highest since I don't have the numbers to back it up but it certainly seems to be up there). I wonder what are the main reasons that are making people opt to leave when the company is doing... — read more

Office Fetish?

Many of you seem to have a massive hard-on for the office. Personally, I don’t get it. Maybe it’s a generational thing. I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with collaboration, productivity, or keeping jobs from going to India though. There’s an... — read more

PIP should be renamed PIT

The EM long drawn out layoff system called PIP is like putting 100 dogs into a PIT and throwing them less food such that each cycle the stronger dogs ki-l and eat 5 weaker dogs. This is a terrible existence even for the stronger dogs that thrive... — read more

Layoffs would be better

Can we get layoffs back, please? I'd prefer to be laid off and get a severance package then be put on PIP and then kicked to the curb with nothing to show for it. It would be one thing if PIPs were reserved for those who really need to improve, but... — read more

Skype status timeout quickly WFH vs office

My skype status seemed to change to inactive within 15s of non-activity (no mouse/keyboard movement) while connected to VPN (at home or cafes). However, whenever I am in the office the timeout is 3 minutes. I cant even read documents in peace now... — read more

Functional groups don’t understand value chain

With the re-org and focus on functional organizations having “accountability” it’s disheartening to see functional groups describe their services as a “value chain” without actually recognizing the costs. Value = Benefits - Costs. DW needs to hammer... — read more

Why do you take NSI so personally?

Stuck in Permian

Offshoring Jobs

Check out the announcements page. Most expat opportunities are no longer being offered to the US workforce. In fact the US is receiving a lot of expats from a certain country. Pretty interesting to see people training their replacements.

Not even a huge bonus would keep me here

It is still possible to find better opportunities out there, and I have become tired of EM. Many people left because they were never adequately compensated for their work, although it seems to me that it's not all about money anymore. Would many... — read more

Brown nosing is becoming an Olympic sport
