Belk is strategically trying to push older, long term, business savvy, and intelligent/astute associates out the door, it’s happening in every store. This is a sign of financial distress. Run for the hills, I got out right after Christmas 2019.

This was what happened at Sears, K Mart, Toys R Us, they customers started saying it looked like the stores were going out of business, and then they did.

My store has switched to 1 manager a day .....what's up with that. All the employees think were closing but of course were not going to be told till the last second!

The new catchphrase at belk is “you can quit if you want anytime” and “get on the bus, or get off the bus” Well if the bus is about to have a head on collision with a brick wall, I think I should get off, don’t you?

Yes it's true. People are scared frustrated and want to be told what's going on.

They never include Belk in the list of stores that are in jeopardy. They must keep the a tight lip at corporate.

Seems like a hiring freeze, while Harper, Hendricks, Hawkins, Riggs & Patel are at home and radio silent. have any of them been inside a store since March? I doubt it. Complete madness!!

Almost everything is 70% off, they are just cleaning house because no new merchandise is comming in. this is like the bargain basement.

Our location has no new product, empty racks. Even the customers say we are going out of business. the writing is on the wall and crystal clear.

three managers (all from our district) all showed up at a job interview for a local business which was just posted online, if that does not say something is going on, nothing will!!

my daughter works at Belk and left when she was told she can’t use the restroom, she would have to wait, while the manager was sitting on her big butt eating cake.

You'd think that someone from Corporate would respond to all this negativity if it wasn't true. Or at least try to reassure the employees if they cared about them.

Belk’s profit margins are becoming smaller and smaller, I don’t think they make much profit at all, even scattershot online sales don’t drive enough profit, and most of the merchandise is clearance or doorbuster.

I think those sycamore owners and the top brass at corporate are actually evil people, they have no interest in this company, they just want the multi million dollar lump sum they get when they company files chapter 11.
