Walmart is having more and more problems in some regrios
2016 predictions / job cuts
Sorry for the repost but here it goes - I would expect another round of layoffs, either before or immediately after WM's fiscal year end (1/31/16.) Last month, many managers and Sr. Managers lost their direct reports and are now individual... — read more
Walmart Layoffs 2016
What is the likelihood of Walmart layoffs in Bentonville in 2016? Please let me know if you have any information.
Downhill
It has kind of gone downhill big time since Sam died. Ours looks is now so dingy and dark, like a parking garage. I guess some idiot executive decided to help global warming and cut back on lighting.
Growing big is NOT the same as being big.
The way to account for the waste is to get real intell, and who should be believed? You would think open door or surveys would give that, but it isn't safe to question anything or state your opinion unless you have been given permission and it is the... — read more
immaterial screw-ups
Regarding movement of P&L's and realignment - necessary and makes sense. There should be a detailed reconciliation that Doug sees that takes the sum of all the business line P&L's and reconciles it to the "real" consolidated P&L. That would unearth... — read more

Walmart Layoffs Today
Given the performance, the layoffs we are seeing today are just an introduction into what is going to happen over next two quarters. You will see fairly large realignment of the Home Office, you will see movement of P&Ls and there will be many heads... — read more
450 was not enough. That place is unbelievable.
They have 18000 people at Home Office and they cut 450. How does that put a dent in their numbers? They need to cut deeper - and that's from someone who was cut on Oct. 2. I personally witnessed people shopping online for hours, playing games on... — read more
Government to set wages and prices
Forget Walmart Layoffs - we have a much more important issue to deal with now. What we need is for the Government to set wages and prices. Also guarantee that everyone has a job. We could have a Secretary of Jobs that would determine who works where... — read more
Walmart Retirement and Stocks After Layoff
The layoffs are real. What I don't understand is how they can layoff someone who had more than 30 years in. I do have a question or two. My father was just laid off hours ago. He was a buyer (can't Remember actual title) making just over 100k/year... — read more
On Walmart Layoffs 2015: Worked for Walmart for 15 years in many positions at different stores (never home office).
You need to understand 2 things: ALL big box retail stores run in a manner similar to this. If you're one of those "hurry, I'll go shop at Target" people, it's the same shit wrapped in red instead of blue. Petsmart, home depot, target, Homegoods... — read more
Why don't you guys write about 50,000 people Walmart will be hiring this holiday season
It's all doom and gloom here - what about positive things, like hiring over 50,000 people this holiday season to help with sales which are, by the way, going to break all records and will propel the company even higher. It's not all doom and gloom at... — read more
Walmart Store Closure 2015 and 2016 LIES BY UNIONS
No stores are closing, period. There are people who work for Unions who spread lies about Walmart, do not listen to them.
Ok so if you don't think anything is going on with WalMart you are very naive
After 23 years of great service my store manager was asked to retire ....and any employees worked over 5-20 years in my store are being threatened with loss of hours and given ridiculous schedules csms are being hired or promoted after just 1 month... — read more
Wal-Mart will lay off hundreds of people at the headquarters in Bentonville, AR
Not the first time for us, they will hit marketing again, I am sure - IT is always the target, Wal-Mart and layoffs, the story of my life. 11 years with the company and you are never safe. You never feel safe and things come from all different kinds... — read more
F* the Speed Ups
How many people have gotten warnings to speed up work? Our teams are supposed to "open" 40 boxes per hour which makes no sense. It increases plugging and makes people lie about their numbers.
Which Walmart stores are closing in 2015 and 2016?
Anyone has a list, I am interested in California, Oregon, Wasington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico. How many Walmart stores will be closed and what are locations for each one of them. If you have number of employees working for the each store... — read more

Its coming.. 5% of the home office with lots of senior level layoffs.. Getting rid of the fat and making the stores the priority again...
frankly its overdue- working with the home office is a joke- arrogance and ineffectiveness abounds..
5.5% reduction in Wal-Mart corporate - 1000 folks to be sacked
Not sure who will be impacted the most, they always go after back office functions and the like to lay off managers and above due to high compensation levels. I left in 2010 and I think I made a good move. Do not get me wrong, the company is great... — read more

Dear Mr. Mcmillon, clearly we need to talk. Shutting down stores with people who are fighting for workplace democracy is not a smart tactic. I know Walmart was doing this long before you became CEO, but this form of aggression will result in even... — read more

Smart Move, Walmart
Walmart made a very smart move by proposing to raise employee wages. But they haven't gone enough. Learn from Costco and maybe you'll get more loyal, effective, and happy workers.
