Topics regarding layoffs at U.S. Bank

Is Andy transitioning....

away from the bank? Stock price is lower than when he started. I get the impression he lacks the ability to effectively lead and only follows trends. Remember when he used to do that side profile thing in his emails? It appeared ridiculous to be... — read more

RTO Five Days Per Week????

Check out the BOA threads. Looks like they are going to try RTO 5 days per week in January 2025. You know Andy is not creative, I bet mid 2025 we will see the same thing!

New Presdient, Gunjan Kedia, and McKinsey

Gunjan Kedia, the new president, previously worked at McKinsey according to the press release that just came out in the news everywhere, which has been giving awful advice about layoffs, return to office, etc... Oh great. As if RTO and layoffs... — read more

TTUS Survey Performance Goals

I noticed in Workday today that beyond just the three day RTO guideline, U.S. Bank is now including TTUS survey participation in one of the pre-written perf goals. Who else is seeing this? They did not have anything like this in the pre-written... — read more

For those who survived layoffs

Do you feel like there is now more or less room for growth after the re-org? Or do you feel that the organization will play favorites? Any advice on career growth?

RTO Update Today

Update on the RTO process just came out today, but still not much information for those remote employees no where near a HUB or a client center.

Layoffs

I haven't heard there was a continuation of layoffs this week. Can we consider the latest round completed or not at this point?

How are they calculating distance from hub

Is there a software that’s being used to calculate miles from the office for each employee? Or is someone manually checking in google and taking an average of the routes to calculate? Anyone know? Seems like it could swing in different directions if... — read more

All Employees Will RTO

Just heard in passing that the new rumor/plan is now for all employees to return to office over the next year. Objectively, this is a total slap in the face to both new hires told they'd stay fully remote permanently, and those who were told the... — read more

How many are gone so far?

We know people are being let go left and right but it's quiet on numbers. Does anybody know how many have been let go so far this week?

Does anyone know if LTD has a 2 year cutoff and then you have to apply for social security?

Multiple departments in Fargo told to return to office starting as early as May and as late as July.

Friday layoffs

I've heard a few people mention layoffs on 4/19, does anybody know more about what that could be about? Friday is a weird day for layoffs (mostly they take place midweek, Tuesday through Thursday) so I'm not putting much stock into those rumors, but... — read more

Another CEO says WFH should not go away

Maybe Andy and the managing committee should take the hint from this CEO https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/29/owl-labs-ceo-top-things-bad-bosses-should-stop-doing-this-year.html

Post Takedown

There was a post here taken down about "crumbling" - the only way it was taken down is someone contacted this platform and told them to take it down. If that is the case, this platform is not as protected or anonymous as they claim.

RTO or not to RTO?

I’ve heard rumors of softening RTO now after a failed rollout, but also that managers are starting “RTO conversation with employees training”?

Severance?

Does anyone know what the severance policy is? It used to be in the HR site, but it seems to be gone.

We are a product, Soylent Green

The RTO employee is the product. You drive, forced to live in a city, have to pay taxes, have to spend on xyz. If you’re 95% less productive than at home it doesn’t matter because every company is making more money off of you. Cars, clothes, food... — read more

Goals in workday

Are any other groups seeing ridiculously unattainable goals for 2024? It's almost like they are setting us up to fail.

Update on Fully Remote

Any updates from HR folks or managers on what the plan is for fully remote employees not near a HUB or any other US Bank office? Will these employees be safe long term, or will they be phased out?

RTO

Is there anyone who is remote or hybrid AND lives near a HUB location but not being required to RTO 3 days a week or at all? I've been hearing there are some teams that are remote and do live near HUBS but their managers have pushed back against RTO... — read more

consulting company

Does anyone know if a consulting company was bought in for all of these changes? I checked the Wells Fargo and Bank of America boards, it seems like the same kinds of things are happening and they refer to a company called McKinsey.

Do I smell collusion?

Seems like RTO is being pushed by all banks as a sneaky way to increase flopping real estate prices in left leaning cities.

COBRA

Does anyone know what the rates are for COBRA ?

Employee appreciation week

So tomorrow is last day for senior leadership to celebrate employee appreciation week. Are they going to let us log off early tomorrow to celebrate and to show their appreciation?

WFH Pay VS RTO Pay

I was hired in 2016 as a remote employee. Pay was not great but I loved it because it was flexible and i don't mind taking weekend issues. We all know pay at the Bank is way below any other companies. Yearly performance always a 4 and rarely 3. Bonus... — read more

Volunteering to be laid off

Anyone know if this is even an option? Doing the work of others after they were let go plus your own work makes no sense. Especially since I never did their work before.

It’s long past time we form a union

In light of recent management decisions it's time we unite and form a union. Collective action is necessary to push back against management's unilateral decisions.
