AT&T got a 20 billion dollar tax cut from the government and promised to invest in employees. Instead they have been replacing thousands of employees with prisoners who are paid less than $2 a day. Of course the company doesn't have to provide any benefits, and prisoners who don't want to be used as slave labor end up in solitary confinement . A clause in the 13th amendment makes this legal, but it doesn't make it right.

This is not an ATT problem, this is a problem with our GOVT. no one is doing anything to stop these kinds of abuses. Same with he damn outsourcing and H1B abuse. This is the GOVT’s FAULT for allowing this bs!
Sounds like they are taking a note from the Chinese and performing a violation of human rights, as China throws people into prison for little/no reason, then forces them into work to death labor camps, and is why they can crank out a ton of cheap widgets to dump on the market, now sounds like AT&T does the same basic thing
It is slavery because of the wages they are being paid.
Of course people who serve their time should be given an opportunity to re-enter society, not relevant to this thread.

No, they don't. It has nothing to do with rehabilitation and everything to do with exploitation. Private prisons are the worst. They make money from leasing prisoners to companies, and they've been lobbying Congress for longer incarcerations. State and federal prisons are also involved in this practice. It's an open secret. The only people who don't know about this are the displaced workers!

It's public knowledge. It's on reputable websites. Why don't you research it for yourself instead of reacting without knowing anything about it. AT&T isn't the only company using prison labor. The top 50 companies in the country are doing it.
