Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Oh and in case I don’t see ya,...

Good afternoon! Good Evening! And Good Night!

I became fully vested after 3 years with the company and I put in my two weeks notice the next day.

Own your life. AT&T means NOTHING. We will all return to dust. You live a single mortal life. Carpe Diem!

"many people dont know their real potential, complacency reigns here. vast majority & mediocrity found a home at T, as per negative comments to OP" it isn't mediocrity when you have to get approvals from three different vp's to make a change. I call it a waste - waste of time, waste of a life, and waste of money.

OP....glad you’re so happy...but you do know that T does not keep contributing after you quit, right? Can’t retire on 3 years worth of a 401k.

gloating about 3 years of vested 401k? Now that is the funniest thing I may hear today.

But the Donovan Town Hall is coming up so I'm pretty sure that will surpass this foolishness

OP Here.

Just want to chime in and cut through the salt and trolls. Hopefully somebody takes ownership of their life.

Fully Vested means your company match of the 401K officially becomes your money. For instance, It happens at year 3. I’m a Management employee who was not offered a pension, FYI.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,

Old Time is still a-flying;

And this same flower that smiles today

Tomorrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,

The higher he's a-getting,

The sooner will his race be run,

And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,

When youth and blood are warmer;

But being spent, the worse, and worst

Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,

And while ye may, go marry;

For having lost but once your prime,

You may forever tarry.

Congratulations on being fully vested in your pension. With 3 years at the company, that pension will cover your booze and crack habit when you're out on the streets at age 65.

Such an inspiring farewell address to the troops, Private id--t. Unfortunately it appears you hadn't taken the opportunity to use our mental health program during your brief stay but no worries as the county offers such facilities for free. Bon Voyage!

"Fully vested" in what? The pension program? If that's the case, enjoy your $80.

What does this even mean?

"Own your life. AT&T means NOTHING."

What does this even mean? How can AT&T mean nothing if they are offering products & services, and hand out paychecks. Someone must think they are good for SOMETHING. I'm glad we got you to think for us, and make decisions for us stupid people.
