Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Keeping the employees at status quo

Not sure why people want promotions when a 5-10% raise comes with a 50%+ increase in the amount of work and responsibility. AT&T's salary bands have effectively become a salary cap for most L2's. Raises are cancelled out by inflation and increases in the cost of benefits. This keeps employees at status quo or below in terms of real compensation. If you want raises it is best to leave the company and then make additional job changes every 2 years.

Well said @YM2n5aD-1pou

Please leave already. Go fool some other company, and whine on their layoff board.

"At this point, I’ve planned my exit. I’ll be leaving soon. I feel bad for my colleagues as they will be forced to take on the stuff I was doing." Which was what, trolling this site through your whole shift?

Where I’m at it’s just a big dead end. Haven’t seen anyone promoted in years and they won’t let us transfer to other groups. With all the recent changes, we work like dogs. I wouldn’t want to be promoted anymore. All the promotion announcements are all L3 and ups. Just a big circle jerk up there.

At this point, I’ve planned my exit. I’ll be leaving soon. I feel bad for my colleagues as they will be forced to take on the stuff I was doing.

Post ID: @YNhJxYv-hdn: As stated.

Love my overtime if I want it. Love going home on time if I want to. Love hearing the phone ring and not touching it. (not really, it is an annoyance). Love spending time with my family on the weekends. Love my pension and retirement benefits that I've accrued. Have plans to leave this circle jerk while I'm young and healthy enough to do what I want.

"Promotion" Get the phuck away from me with that.

You are worthless if you have to leave to get raises.

You don’t get raises because you are worthless and will soon be surplused.

I refused 3 promotions.

I made plenty as an outside tech. Was responsible only for me.

Went home when I wanted. Or worked OT.

Didn’t have to answer the phone at 3AM.

Wasn’t forced as duty manager on weekends.

And made just as much if not more.
