OP, in the last 2-3 years it has been a morning notification (mostly starting with an email) to expect a phone call. They prefer you acknowledge the first before making the call. They will be reading from a prepared script so try not to take offense if you, or anyone, gets that call. Afternoon calls might be scheduled as an open conference giving the ‘all clear’ with other mentions to be aware of.
An envelope will be sent out giving everyone the next step, and choices that must be made, to start transitioning out. Q & A’s will be set up in an open conference forums, space is limited to maybe 400+, I don’t remember.
Don’t panic as the Q & A’s are repeated as live forums, and as a rule they are hosted by two persons for 60-90 minutes, taking calls. You can ask your own by getting in line but many drop off as many ask the Q’s we were ready to ask.
If possible to record on your own, I suggest it, if you know the call is coming for you....record that too, as well as necessary call to HR, accuracy is extremely important.
I took part in the October 2016 Surplus, I understand....good luck
I truly hope @XlLk9nH-tos does not mind I turned this into a thread, but this is the kind of info people really need today.
