WF didn't "drop" its insurance license. It was TAKEN AWAY from WF due to WF's fraud, as part od the settlement. And if WF ever wants to get back into insurance business again, it has to wait years and then pay millions just to get back in.
To poster who thinks everyone else (govt., CFPB, etc.) is to blame for WF fraud, you are WRONG. WF is solely to blame. WF brought ALL of this on itself and deserves to be punished (up to and including going out of business). Customers are leaving in droves now.
I can't believe anyone is defending WF at this point. Lots of good employees, but totally corrupt leadership. This is a pivotal year...radical changes in leadership (unlikely) or the beginning of the end for WF (total sell-off).
