Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What a sh!tshow....

What a freaking mess. Reorg after reorg, surplus here, surplus there, surplus everywhere.....blah blah blah.

How about a stable plan with a stable leader we can trust?

I have never seen so much greed and self preserving backstabbing in my long career.

Now unmanageable debt with rising interest rates, core cutting and low 5G adoption rates are going to crush us.

We need help. And we need it now.

Hahahaha, minimal health breaks will cause a real sh!tshow. This is what you get for working at a place that refers to employees as resources. Management dehumanized you to the point they want to metric your bathroom breaks.

They pull that bathroom baloney nationwide. Managers actually stand outside the bathroom at times. For the earlier id--t poster, this is not about cig breaks or using cellphones...its about using the bathroom outside of breaks or lunch. Bodily functions are a fact of life. If they could get away with making us wear depends , they would do it

If the product was worth a sh-- then they wouldn’t have so many calls. And what’s with the job accommodation department? Do they provide depends or something, maybe a pot to piss in? What a mo--n, typical area management narrow thought process

"Excessive Health Breaks" is the key phrase. Employees consider health breaks smoking and hanging out at the coffee bar too. By all means that letter is appropriate. Are you saying you should get a full pay check while avoiding work? If you do not like that line of work then do all you can to move out of that job. No sympathy here.

Not even bothering to surplus in many areas. Just creating reasons to fire people. This is an actual email from management telling us they will fire us if we log out to use the restroom 'excessively". From: CLAY JR., LANEL

Subject: Health Breaks

Occasionally employees have unforeseen health problems that may require additional time away from their desk which may not warrant an approval from AT&T’s Job Accommodations’ Department. This should not be the norm. AT&T provides employees with two breaks throughout the day, which should help alleviate unscheduled time away from your desk. The Company expects our employees to be available to our customers when they call.

Because AT&T provide reasonable breaks, Excessive Health Breaks, can be viewed as misuse of Company Time Violation that could lead to Disciplinary Action up to and including Dismissal.

Our expectations are for all employees to follow their schedule as assigned. If a problem exists where we can be of any assistance we will work with you to try to find a solution. AT&T’s Job Accommodations Department potentially provides reasonable accommodations for employees who feel they have a need that is preventing them from performing the essential functions of their current job. If you feel you need reasonable accommodations, our Job Accommodations Department number is 1 866-276-2278.

Check out the resumes of your board members and senior leaders to understand how they view the marketplace. They share ideas across companies and you'll see what's coming if you pay attention.

You act surprised. The plan was laid out 2 years ago to get rid of 1/3 of the work force, which at the time, was right around 100,000 employees by 2020. What about that do you not understand??
