$ 50 billion for DirecTV and we are losing subscribers left and right. One would argue that AT&T is in a transitional stage and that it’s all gonna work out once the media business is entirely in place, but I don’t agree. The media business is fast growing, the customers know what they want, and what they are willing to pay for the service. If you have bigger prices you have to have something that nobody else has, and that there is a high demand for it. The competitors are also not just sitting there and waiting, but they have their services set up and are growing as we speak. The leadership has to acknowledge that the amount of money spent is no guarantee and that nobody is waiting for AT&T to set up their media business. Something needs to be done fast or this can turn into a real disaster for the company.
