T going downhill

So as a former surplussed employee, I stayed with my T service even though i got canned. My employee accounts got switched over to consumer accounts. It was a tough pill to swallow but I managed because I loved their services like wireless and internet even though my life got turned upside down after 15 years of service.

What can I say, I really don't like change and i may be one of the few that are willing to pay if I like something.

Anyhow, there was an error on my bill. Ok it happens. I'll just call and get it sorted out. Now, i've heard the horror customer stories, but i thought, they're just stories.

Guess what? It was a feces storm. My call got routed through the T's world call centers. How do I know? well if you've been with "tech support" you know. I got transferred here then there. Consumer to concessions to the moon and back. Each time I get the same basic line, "Oh I'm sorry we only do this here not that. We will have to transfer you. Please hold." A few times, the phone disconnected on me in the middle of a conversation. No call back despite their promise. Rep A would promise to stay on and explain what is happening to the other Rep but each time it was only a transfer. Person on other end would have no clue why I called. Eventually they would hesitantly look at the notes on their screen that explained why I called. Each time it seemed like they were bothered to have to read.

They said it got sorted but at this point I am skeptical. We will see in a couple of days.

The right hand is not talking to the left. Each foot is going the opposite way. And the brain is deteriorating. T is going downhill.

I have been with the company, a number of years. In the past, it was always take ownership of the customers issue, and get it fixed! With Randall's regime,it is "see if you can get it fixed, in the eight minutes we give you". If not, just pass the buck. His regime has put a horrible stain on T's reputation. I am referring more and more customer issues, to the office of the president. I encourage you to so as well.

What is compounding the issue is that now when customers call in someone is almost always trying o sell them hem something or upgrade something. No mother f---er I don’t want to switch to directv I’m happy with uverse my sh-- is just going out.

I dont know about all this calling in to fix your bill stuff but I tell you what, after 20 years of working outside where all we do is slice and splice, to be overnite given bonded pair installs where we are suppose to go in the homes wearing our dirty levis, and giant lumber jack boots, and act like we are trained and knowledgeable in software and hi-tech. Well its embarrassing for us the techs, and a truly memorable experience for the customer.Good job upper management ! We dont need no stinking training ! Were over paid ( not ) and you want us gone ! Were just making ends meet and you guys make more in a month than we do in a lifetime. How about you stop and smell the roses and realize we all want to make this thing work while saving for the future.A little training , and a little openness will set you free !!

It's more like Customer Don't Care. I cringe every time I need to call and every call is exactly the same. I recently retired from AT&T and am seriously considering dropping my TV, Digital Life, and Wireless, and wireless home phone because it's soooo painful to contact them and there are more cost effective providers.

I use the web for the functionality that's supported but not all things can be handled there. It's sad that every call to customer care takes at least an hour and you need 2 or 3 calls to get close to an answer.

Got suplussed shortly after a call center got surplused as well. Disconnected all AT&T services and still had a problem trying to return DTV equipment. Finally got it straightened out after 2 monthgs.

That's exactly why, when I left the company, I left completely and will never return.

I too have experienced issues. AT&T no longer provides funding for training it’s all on the job. Every time you call you get someone from overseas. A contractor. You think they’re about to handle something complicated? Nope!

Sounds like 85% of the calls I make to customer care.
