Don’t know if he was fired, forced to resign, or found a better gig. Hearing from multiple sources that he’s out.
Good riddance.

Its the same f#*$ing Leadership and culture that reflects in Oracle India too, all those top guys should be fired who are just burdens and bringing a bad name to such a great company
it seems it was the only move to save the stock, look at ORCL performances in the last 5 days.
cloud results have been so low in the last 12 months that we have been surpassed also by Alibaba in Q2CY18, and Oracle is no more in the 5 top cloud providers.
so a scapegoat was urgently needed. TK was the perfect fit, most probably together with many of his "family" in the org.
and that was the sign the market was waiting for, a change in our cloud org to boost next Qs performances. more a whisful thinking than anything else, but sometimes it works.
Oracle will always surprise - but maybe not this quarter. TK leaving is ultimately a necessary step on the path to a brighter future for Oracle. That’s going to be a precipitous path for sure but Oracle will come out the other side a stronger more relevant company.
the ship is going down...
Never thought it would happen. I thought TK would go down with the ship....
Been working in some project with him, every 5 word he says 6 time FuC. An arrogant id--t too much well paid that destroyed Siebel business creating a useless CRM in th cloud which is year away from sales force or any other competitors
Finally he left , they should have fired him 10years ago
His departure is a non event. The battle has already been lost. His replacement will be doing mop up duty.
I really cannot say if TK departure is a good thing or not. But for sure it is very bad that mh, sc and senile le staying at the head of oracle is a very bad thing. Now nobody with technical knowledge leads at oracle.
le never understood cloud, and mh and sc are nothing but finance people with no vision except for their own wallet.
oracle is still a cash cow for le, mh and sc, but there is no future for oracle products @ oracle. Cst will pay lot of money to finance the oracle stupid execs at oracle.
Deal with it and prepare to pay lot of money !!!
I was in many meetings with TK because I worked on a lot of projects in development that were high priority. His ability to understand the key issues quickly and to point out the problems with a project or a technology were astonishing. However, he tried to manage every project in development. He micro-managed to an absolutely insane level. No matter how smart and how hard working he is, trying to micro-manage 30,000 people is ridiculous. He should have spent his time finding and grooming people who could manage rather than trying to manage everything himself. Most of the time when he was dropping F bombs, the people deserved it because they had f*ckd up. But yelling at people doesn't solve anything. I think he's one of the smartest people I've ever met, but Oracle is better off without him.
Nobody liked working for him. Even folks who think they liked working for TK will, once the tension is completely gone, realize how detrimental to their physical and mental being was their proximity to this fake prophet.
Why people complain about TK, has his boss done nothing wrong? Why Oracle spent such hung amount of money on the so called cloud v2? What was the point.
post @2wss - written by TK himself. Period.
My take on TK, as measured by key leadership characteristics:
High Integrity — Character, trust, honesty
High Courage: Willing to “be unpopular”. Not always a delight to work for.
Strong Communicator: Ability to influence others through spoken and written word
Mixed Toughness: Held MH and SK accountable, but over-trusted leaders within his own organization
Mixed Adaptability: Unparalleled intellect. Amazing ability to learn and pivot technically; over-reliance on command and control “bullying” style. Unable to adopt the cloud first / Gen X / Millennial approach of “emotional intelligence” to motivate and inspire
Mixed sense of priority: Stuck to long term strategic goals, failed to implement meaningful interim goals for quality, adoption and customer advocacy.
Highly creative in the realm of technology — zero creativity wrt product marketing
Results — Focused on what was important, advanced the cause for Oracle. But lost the war because he spent too much time throwing stones at MH and SK, and not enough time focusing on rolling out amazing services that customers love.
Ran it into the ground.
What did he actually accomplish besides the greatest cloud technology shell game of all time?
It’s a tight race between this leadership’s ORACLE Cloud Story and the child story The Emperors New Clothes.
We have a great cloud. The best cloud. Can’t you see it?!
That's because he did a good job of managing up. He has failed deliver quarter after quarter, year after year. He should have been let go a very long time ago.
It’s amusing to hear “words of wisdom” from people who may not have run even a 10 people org. On a persona who ran a 32000+ org fir many many years.
<So would Don Johnson now report to LE or MH ? Or would then bring in someone from the outside ?
Don Johnson will report to LE and they will have someone else run the rest of development also reporting to LE.
Well, chances of that are slim to none. In fact, they will probably try to find even bigger w-------rr to replace him.
Still had my own little happy dance yesterday...
TK was one of the worst managers in history. He's a good example of someone who is exceptionally smart but could not apply his intelligence usefully. Getting rid of him is only the beginning. There are many, many managers promoted by him, and a whole terrible management culture he created. Next, you have to get rid of 80% of the managers in development and start over. It will take many years to fix the development organization, years Oracle doesn't have. And that is only possible if an outstanding manager replaces TK. What are the chances that will happen?
There seems to be a general sense of relief in TKs departure. Did he create exceptional products Customers wanted? Did he create a high performance customer centric culture? He did neither. On the contrary he created an incredibly negative, toxic organisational culture resulting in pervasive negative decision bias, strategy divorced from market realities, and performance which could only be suboptimal. His organisation was driven more by fear and blame which infected so much of the way oracle deals with its employees and customers. Rude, belittling, a mouth that spews invective and hate as frequently as he blinks his eyes - all under the guise of a very false “peaceful zen like” public persona. Perhaps oracle may now start producing products that customers enjoy using, sold by people who are happy selling them. Mark and TKs open animosity has finally come to a head - and over some basic cloud strategy disagreements - which should worry oracle and the market far more than the day eparture of a false prophet long over due. Oracle has been leaderless for far too long and this shows in its misguided strategy and anemic performance.
His meetings are well executed. Great boss who always wants to get intimated with his staff (my intepretation of his F word). Heard he is back managing middleware for TKNoodle.com
I've been on this site weekly for about three years now.
I've never seen so much animosity towards any executive, TK haters have exceeded all expectations.
As someone who has closely worked with him for a few years, I'd lie if I was to say that I am surprised.
Good riddance... It's good for the worker and the org as a whole...
Poster: "Interesting timing - 5 days before earnings call - major distraction going on - earning will
S U C K !"
Hey Big dummy, What is there to s--- about ? There are lawsuits against Oracle, Wall Street is getting wise to the BS, and customers and employees are leaving. What do you think? Get the the hell out now.
Interesting timing - 5 days before earnings call - major distraction going on - earning will S U C K !
I don't understand the F Bomb either - in ORCL, its a must have qualification for the s---er VPs, (which there are plenty, LOL) and its not true that Don Johnson was the primary driver for this..
The only reason TK was here was due to SC (MH never liked him) but u know wtf, does anyone care.... if there was one person, whom I heard from employees who deared for a short while, it was the soft spoken, John Wookey.
TK has toyed and played demented little games with our careers and lives. Now, the shoe is on the >>other foot. Little f...ing cry baby. Little man (5 foot 7) thinks dropping F-bombs makes him feel big ??>>and strong. We were always so scared, little man.
Unfortunately, that's how some leaders think they need to "act" in order to get stuff done. I suspect 20 yrs with LE can do that to most people. I wonder if his twin brother has a similar management style ? He was at Cisco and now with Netapp, relatively more laid back than Oracle.
Yeah. The post about Don Johnson seems to fit the situation. LJE is the only one that could drive him away.

Go enjoy your F-ing retirement and millions of dollars you have gained from our hard work and sweat. No other company is going to pick up your baggage.
I heard the following. LE told TK that he wanted to move the cloud org (Don Johnson) out from >>under TK. TK refused and therefore resigned. Good riddance
Interesting ! I'm glad it is not health related. So would Don Johnson now report to LE or MH ? Or would then bring in someone from the outside ?
sold Oracle stock today, wish it was MH that was leaving

Are there going to be layoffs? in OCI or OCI-Classic (Santa Clara)? And other (S|P)aaS orgs?
It looks highly likely that with TK gone, and the need to inflate profit, there is a possibility of layoffs.
let's have a moment ..and say....go to hell TK..same you created for many...
and take your effin twin bro with you...
A*hole
Citing health problems? One can only hope he is off to the “London office”. Hint: “Will and Grace” episode “Boardroom and a Parked Place”.
Too little and far too late!
It is very relevant. He created a very hostile work environment and he won’t be missed. Oracle will be better for it.
You really don't understand the FBomb comment? He will not be missed due to the way he treated those who worked for him. Demeaning. Cruel. Belittling. Humiliation. Threatening. F Bombs was A tool of intimidation we wielded with abandon.
I dont get the stupid F* bomb comment. What does it have to do with anything. Last i check Oracle was not a primary school and none of the folks in TK meetings were impressionabke kids.
Morale is in the toilet. Maybe this will serve to temporarily prop up people's spirits until MH rips their hearts out again and then proceeds to stomp on it like its a piece of trash on fire.
Do you know how many F-bombs I heard TK drop? That man has the dirtiest mouth out of any leader there and it isn't even close.
$40 million last year? wtf FOR? Is that like some kind of participation trophy?
