Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Surplusing SSRs but expanding IHX?

How is it legal for AT&T to surplus union workers in retail and at the same time expand IHX which is taking our work away even though customers hate IHX and they can’t even meet there numbers? Can’t anyone see this is a union busting tactic? Why hasn’t CWA sued?

They are all shady losers lying to customers that they get a free phone then the customer comes into the store mad they are being charged. They never provide paperwork of course so their is no way for them to be accountable for there lies. I hate them all and hope they get fired for there sleeze and what they do to poor innocent customers!!!!

If you IHX sales people don't want the stores mad at you, stop being shady, be legitimate and stop ignoring your customers calls forcing them to the stores.

And before you start saying "I never do that!" just shut your mouth. You all do it and you all try to grab inventory from stores. Be above board and everyone will get along fine.

Another manager bringing down employees who work for the company! Great leadership!!! Wouldn’t want to work for someone who calls someone else a loser. Good job! Hope you feel better about yourself.

It’s so encouraging to have ARSM’s speak so poorly of you because you chose to move over to IHX. I’ve been hearing from my previous ARSM and now the post below. Way to be leaders!

As an ARSM I would be fine with IHX if they would just quit stealing our people and our inventory. It is a dead end for your career if you go there and I don’t want my best sellers and managers ruining their careers.

Full disclosure- I am not IHX or management. Now to the facts- PAY ATTENTION! AT&T is a very REACTIVE company, we are bleeding customers at a rate probably not ever seen. Someone somewhere in or outside (think consultants) comes up with this GENIUS NEW IDEA- the customers won’t come to us, we will go to them.

This is nothing new, someone is always coming up with GENIUS IDEAS to get to customers from outside the standard BRICK & MORTAR.

Does anyone remember or even know how big our National Retail Channel grew for something like 15 years? It was much, much larger than IHX is today, and BRICK & MORTAR was b--ching because National Retail was taking sales from them.

COR was b--ching about Local Dealers taking sales.

AT&T will do ANYTHING to drive numbers- real or imaginary. Show the Board of Directors NUMBERS.

Will IHX fizzle out? Of course & it’s not going to take anywhere near 15 years. My prediction is 3 years tops. The cost will outweigh the productivity.

Yet I continue to see dozens upon dozens of irrational posts about IHX.

If you want to vent negativity direct it at the COMPANY. Stop with the IHX slamming.

The sun will still rise & set today regardless & AT&T is always dreaming up new ways to drive numbers, and another Channel will emerge to take your sales away. That’s just the way it is, always has been and always will be.

And please proof what you post- your writing is beyond atrocious. I cannot believe you actually work for the company- you might be better suited to stock shelves at Walmart.

You IHX peopl do nothint but lie to customers when you show up to there door to get the sale that they get 2 year pricing on Direct TV and then are never hurd from again when they come in askinf why there promotions fell off. As far as I am concerned they should fire the hole lot of you!

I love how this board is always pro employee and anti-layoffs except for IHX. If you are in IHX it’s a big middle finger to you and everyone trashes you here. We are people too in the same boat as you are!

I don't care if IHX wants to claim they are not "door to door" salesmen. They show up at a customer's door uninvited. Imagine if one moves to a new house, who then orders new electrical service. The power company sends someone to make the connection to the grid and someone else "just happens to be tagging along". This tag-along knows not much of how the network really works but is ready to promise a great new world of faster internet and a seamless (let's call it effortless) transition to AT&T's robust network. The tag-along doesn't care that the promo price expires in a few months or that the customer can barely stream one Netflix SD channel in 2018.

Correct me if I am wrong, but were there not posts a few months ago from management and IHX saying they were here "just to help" and not worry about them taking your job ?

You all sound like a bunch of whining babies. Worry about your own job positions instead of others. You will live a happier life, I promise.

  1. IHX is not door to door.

  2. IHX does not take your store traffic away, why? Because they are not going to customers homes that already have AT&T cell service, so therefore, they can't take your traffic away. They visit the homes of people getting DTV/UVerse/Internet installed that was ordered over the phone or internet.

  3. Do more research on IHX before you look like a fool.

  4. You already probably look like a fool anyway by how you act on here.

  5. Have a nice miserable life in the job position you obviously hate! :)

In response to one comment earlier about IHX only responding to wireless/internet order where the csr has another providers service. Excuse me, but isn't that in direct conflict with all the CPNI training we have had to read and reread annually, endlessly? If I'm not mistaken, we can use internal csr records, with the csr permission, to offer features and upgrades or changes to existing services, but that's it. Oh, I forgot, that would require ethics! Sorry but we don' t offer those anymore!

IHX can do data transfers as long as icloud works / att transfer app works and the customer has home wifi. If it needs a transfer machine then sometimes we may have to send to retail because IHX does not get transfer machines. But that is rare.

Sometimes I borrow one from the store if they will let me. I don’t get the sale unless I can make it as easy as possible for customers.

Now let’s talk about all those customers we have to set up the DTV app for that retail never does... it goes both ways!

We do expect customers to come in with issues from time to time no matter where they got their equipment from. Our customers come in saying they were told to come in for data transfers because IHX reps told them that’s not something they can do. I have friends in IHX and some say they do tell customers that, and some that actually do take care of their customer. Maybe it’s just some areas that do this. I honestly think there should be more of an open communication between retail and IHX.

On one hand people are complaining that IHX is taking away jobs and then on the other hand are mad at the traffic IHX brings to the stores down the road. Headcount is being cut because retail traffic is down. The more customers who walk through your door the less likely your store’s headcount is to be cut.

This is why ihx needs to fire all these losers they swindle there customers and push products no one wants then send the problems to stores rather than do there job and cusomer service!!!!!!!! Then thay steal my sales whenever there is no line of sight and take my inventory!!!!!! Yes CWA needs to picket at dispatches and stop these scabs from stealing are jobs!!!!!

So a customer who signs up with IHX should never visit a store?

IHX is supposed to refer a customer for warranty to either tech support or to a retail store — whichever is conveinient for them (unless within 14 day exchange period.) Most customers choose retail. Retail can smartcheck and then process an XBM on DLC.

In fact part of the point of IHX is to drive more traffic retail post sale since retail’s traffic is declining. Our official customer contact sheets (which I don’t use) welcome customers to the nearest retail store. This gives more opportunities to service and then sell to people who otherwise wouldn’t visit retail.

I am sick of IHX sending people to stores for warranty repairs!!! You sell it then you service it!!!! I tell them they have to call their rep. I am not dealing with there bull!!!

Repeat after me: “Door to door contractors and IHX are not the same... Door to door contractors and IHX are not the same...”

IHX does not go door to door. They are dispatched alongside techs during TV and internet installs.

And our ordering systems show what speeds our internal systems say are available at an address. We have no way of knowing it is wrong and neither does the system until a technician reports it.

Door to door IHX salesman are always selling customers on 2 year price locks and we don’t even do it any more and then thay can never be called on the phone. I have so many of my installs cancel when thay learn they won’t get it for 2 year!!!

We do get a lot of issues from Ihx in my store. Issues like the rep saying they can’t help them transfer their information or do returns/exchanges. I was hearing managers talk about the new asm role for att express. They were saying that they are for specifically for ssrs that want to apply to an asm role. That doesn’t seem accurate. In the positions posted it says those asms will be responsible for several kiosks. I haven’t seen one of these kiosks yet so I have no idea where they will be located.

@1bqd: sometimes OPUS is right and the technician is too damn lazy to fix the issue or too worried about their numbers because they’re a sorry excuse for a tech. But depends on the region. California has some of the sorriest techs I’ve ever seen and they get paid the most!

by

Post ID: @1xsn+UycCIiY

Oh, well I’ve never seen it that bad. Often times techs will show up with an order for a 10/1 and can only do a 6, or an 18 and can only do a 12. I have yet to run into an 18 that has to be bumped down that far🤷🏻‍♂️

Post ID: @UycCIiY-1yxl Yes I am a technician. Just because OPUS says so doesn't make it true. I'm sorry that OPUS is bogus. Most of these customers are being sold "faster" internet than what they have with the cable company. They are being sold 18meg or more and can get no more than 1.5m or 786k due to line conditions or loop length. I'm not mad at you, the business office generates trouble tickets and problems that I get 40 bucks an hour to solve. Once again, God bless these sales channels.

You must be a tech. You have to understand something, and it’s taken me physically showing techs my OPUS screen to prove it: WE SELL WHAT OPUS SAYS IS AVAILABLE. If they can only get 3M, my customers know they can stream one device in standard def. It isn’t our fault if you have an order for 25M and the address can only support 18. Also, 99% of the time, we aren’t even the ones who sold the product. We aren’t door to door. We operate based on video/internet orders in which customers have a competitor’s wireless service.

IHX, funny. Door to door salesmen over selling products that the network can't deliverer. Truck roll, truck roll, truck roll. Cancel order, cancel, cancel. Repeat this again because tomorrow is a new day, new customers to bam-boozle. Easiest tickets I get. God bless these scammers.
