Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Leadership needs to change - only one way to do it

Bring in somebody from the outside like IBM did in the 1990's. Lou Gerstner cleaned house starting at the top. Executives were required to just 'talk' rather than using 'slides'. Those who were simply parroting what their teams told them were OUT! Yeah, Lou had to do layoffs, but he did it quickly and reoriented IBM strategy. Lou made the elephant dance and everyone won as a result.

Unfortunately, AT&T is blind to the fact we have the same executive team, slogging us thru the same losing strategies year after year. There is a reason why AT&T DOES NOT recruit from top MBA schools, top MBA students do not want to work for AT&T. They prefer Apple, Microsoft, Google, etc.... AT&T only recruits from mid-tier and below MBA schools which does not bode well for the future....

The knowledge gap, increases on every layoff. The transition of work is to just pass it along. Those leaving understand the need for process in larger projects. Those that bumble their way along via boasting and lies are left. The technical knowledge is leaving the professional knowledge is leaving. Those that are left are milking the cow or clueless. The people with knowledge are passed over for any advancement. They cause issues with process and accountability. They will be gone soon. Follow the money -' it's leaving

The pivot to 2020 is really just an outsourcing plan. The training is worthless anywhere else. This is the foundation T is building its future,on, clueless new hires and outsourcing. It will be a rough road for anyone as the current processes are tossed aside for rampant disorganization it's hard to run a business with no expertise. There are some bright people left, but they will be stifled by politics and constant reorganization.

3rd quarter is covered by the hide the pea under the shell accounting, but T will have to show its hand 1st quarter. Expect big notifications of surplus.

Can only hide the losses so long, Should be interesting to watch
