Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Sell your T stock and buy Canopy Growth Corp (CGC) and mellow out your worries!

T is kinda stuck until revenue starts growing again...

T, saddled with a declining landline business is an income stock, rather than a growth stock. With a 6% return on the dividend, which have preferential tax treatment, this stock is a fit in certain portfolios.

The big risk to T is rising interest rates. The Fed is supposed to raise their rates about 1% in the next year to around 3%.

T might have an upside to this 5G stuff. The downside is a failure to jettison the landline telephony. That is an expensive, labor intensive cancer on their businesses.

The Bottom Line

If you tune into the items hidden in AT&T's financial statements, you may be able to spot some of the warning signs that point to earnings manipulation. should dig deeper before making an investment a clear example Bank of America analyst Vivek Arya says AT&T stock, which currently trades at a forward earnings multiple of 9.1, is historically cheap and provides an excellent entry point for long-term value investors.

looking at this Off-Balance-Sheet Items, Pension Plans,Non-Recurring" Expenses, Accelerating Expenses Preceding an Acquisition, and my favorites: Accelerating Revenues & Delaying Expenses

Arya says AT&T could generate a surprise earnings beat in the third quarter thanks to an under-the-radar accounting change related to content amortization costs. (cooking the bii In addition, Arya says AT&T's analyst day in November could serve as a bullish catalyst for the stock. this does not pass the smell test,

SeekingAlpha, said not feel comfortable putting money at risk under the current state of affairs. If I was asked if I would recommend buying AT&T right now, I would say no. I have a sell rating on the stock. AT&T always has been considered a widows and orphans stock. The sad fact is this is no longer the case, yet many widows and orphans still make up the vast majority of the investor base. I have a large portion of my portfolio dedicated to AT&T. It used to help me sleep well at night. Now I sleep much better knowing I don't.

Spoken like a person that bought this stock very low and is promoting a rush to buy CGC in order to bail. Could this stock be a bonanza, sure. But wouldn’t you rather hear that from your CFP?

One year ago CGC stock was at approx. $7.00, today about $41, almost a 500% increase to this point already.

@tmTJ has multiple Sell orders in place at different stages as the stock rises and as the stock hits that magic number going up, they will execute.

@rim, is the same person as the OP.... ‘and you better do it before Oct 18. Canada goes legal.’ The OP lies and the first replier swears to it!

There will be a rush to the door to buy, gee what an incredible opportunity. Those already invested

are ready to bail. Within a day, maybe two, Your investment will recognize the sellers were waiting for you....get professional advise, take a few days to learn.

or, they could give the services for FREE, to inflate their subscriptions, isn't that whats the game is all about? without real capital investment, just selling adds, and all the innovation that no one can't see but them, they will not make it.
