Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T

The way you can tell if your center is about to close.

  1. your managers wear jeans to work when they used to dress up

  2. your director dresses down

  3. the employees are in flip flops and shorts

  4. systems and programs just stop

the takeaway is this; managers already know the closing about to happen, so they have given up caring. They system is not working properly because it is being moved program by program to another call center. Been there, done that.

The way to tell if the center is closing is, it's a leased facility that's going off lease, or there is much more floor space than is needed, or there is a lot of e-time, etc.

If someone is under the core CWA contracts, I don't expect to hear of any layoff notices until September. Don't know about CWA wireless contracts.
