Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

My manager hates her job and is making us all miserable

Should I go to my arsm? My boss complains about the company every day and makes us miserable. We have to tel her one wrong thing we do every day so she can create a coaching conversation because she says it is what the company makes her do. Wtf? Is that true?

For what it’s worth, you’re not the only OHPA employee miserable in their role from DOS’s down. The market developed a toxic and somewhat abusive work culture of rank and spank sometime ago, and the beatings will likely continue until morale improves.

Saying something to your ARSM or DOS likely won’t accomplish much as they maybe just as miserable. They say people dont leave bad jobs, they leave bad bosses. Look at the ARSMs and DOSs that constantly have openings on their team and haven’t kept a team together for more than 6-12 months.

If your leadership looks like that, then your best course of action is to leave the market, leave the channel, or leave AT&T. If you decide it’s not worth leaving and stay, then fake it till you make it. Force the smile and be sure it’s photographed and posted on Twitter. #Funatwork

Actually your manager should be physically observing the transactions and documenting the observations. I know some ARSM’s found out a few stores were having reps write a summary of their own transaction without verifying a thing and the manager would document that as their observation, this did not make the ARSM happy at all. I personally would speak with them if it’s a hellacious work environment. Employees do not want to perform if they are being made miserable.

Your AVP does shots with you and you are complaining? People on this site complain about anything.

I since quit but I won a contest last year for CRU and was shocked that the AVP was doing shots with all the DOSs and ARSMs. I don’t drink but felt pressured to as one of four RSCs there to not be the odd one out. Glad I am out of that place!

She's horrible. She's told many people that she hates her job. Hopefully when she quits or gets fired, she spills the beans on all the garbage upper management had her do to the people under her. This company is begging for more class action law suits about treating people like garbage and forcing them to quit

Ohio has become the armpit of AT&T retail the last couple years

No point telling the ARSM. He/she probably is the one making your boss miserable. Just wait it out and hope for change or find another position. Sorry you are going through that.

Ohio went to hell after we got that new AVP and went to OHPA. Managers who got results were pushed out and replaced with morons who thought bribing us with ice cream parties and dressing up like Superman would make us want to sell. I’d rather have a boss who wasn’t a miserable hungover ditz who got the job because she was drinking buddies with the right people.

Your problem is you are in Ohio. Change markets. A party girl took over a couple years ago and drove all the decent managers out and replaced everyone with her clueless drunk friends.
