I have to say that @1pst isn't wrong. This company's bloat is astounding.
T-Mobile eeks by with 1 Operations Specialist per territory, a handful of trainers per market, no in-store cleaners (the reps clean the stores...surprise!), a new-hire program that lasts only a few weeks and is done in the hiring store (via OLTs), ...and the list goes on and on.
We're fat. Bloated like crazy.
In training alone, there are still (for some reason) regionalized training ADs, regionalized content developers, regional AND territory level managers, and close to a 1-to-1 ratio of district trainers. Are you kidding me? To do...what? Hide, stay off the radar, and pretend to work, that's what.
In training, New Hire is the most important thing that we do. That said, New Hire should be done entirely in-store. Period. Face-to-face training is only needed (maybe) for new leaders and leadership development. Besides...literally everything we ever teach them in New Hire Training is completely undone once they're back in their stores.
In 2016/17 we spent countless millions of dollars training The Winning Formula, teaching our front-line employees on how to be nice to guests and "sell to our guests the way they want to be sold to." Except, guests simply need the services we provide and the occasional help, and that's it. They have no use for HUMs or jetPacks (are you KIDDING ME?), especially when their smartphones have had this feature enabled for years. YET...our upper leadership requires everyone to attend. It doesn't take and it DEFINITELY doesn't produce growth. But Directors then turn around and scream at DMs/GMs who aren't producing growth (and who have sh--ty NPS scores because no one gives a sh1t anymore.
Starting in February 2018, Verizon will be paying to have every single Solutions Manager flown into Leesburg, VA to attend LEAD Academy for an entire week. They'll all be put up in dorm rooms the size of many walk-in closets, fed, and flown back and forth from their home markets...all at the cost of multi-millions. And once those same leaders get back to their stores, they'll continue doing the same $h!t they always do, which is whatever the f%@k they are told to do by their GM/DM.
WASTE, pure and simple.
Next week, we'll be rolling out "Set Up @ Home" service nationwide. Basically, a "Here's your phone, here's a sheet of paper with instructions...and bye" level of service for our stores. The goal, in stores, is a 20 minute transaction time. (dafuq?) YET...again...leadership will be screaming "Where's our growth??? Where's our ARD??? Our pull through???"
So, if you think for a second that things are peachy and won't continue to contract and shrink...you're insane.
Seriously...to my Verizon (especially Wireless) family, do yourself a favor and get out. Now. If you think sh!t is bad now...just wait. It WILL get worse. Guaranteed.
Best of luck to everyone.
- Just got out and am SOOOO thankful I did so
