Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Only gets worse from here

Hopefully Verizon customers are reading this.

The sales reps in many locations slam customers. Honestly I feel bad for them sometimes. Yes, they can decide to be a shady person or not but it comes from the top. Always being talked to about pull thru and what you are getting from your customer. If you aren't getting enough then you can role play or be made to feel like garbage. Managers watch and document your every move but most couldn't do what they are asking.

Reps get anxiety to hit numbers and not have a job and push out services like HUM tell the customer it's free and slam it on the account by changing the plan. New plans are out making it harder to slam customers which is causing numbers to go down.

What happens when a customer finds out they are slammed? The RSS is the one retuning everything and dealing with the sh--. Have fun dealing with that mess when gone.

Maybe the company would save money if it actually had a vision- merchandising plan that didn't include always throwing away random sh--. Can't be cheap.

I have made sure that everyone I know understands how Verizon sales rep are ripping customers off and that they could care less about them. Can't really blame the reps they are under a lot of pressure.

Many people I know have made the switch to a different network after going into the store and being treated badly. Maybe if Marnie and Lowell weren't greedy they could have retained some support stuff to make the customers still feel valued. If you still have Verizon make sure you are ordering online as a trip into any retail store will cost you a lot more money.

Same. I'm a manager of a C location (so who knows if I'm safe) and our quota has been nuts. Newer location with a B quota and no traffic to match. Pride myself on integrity just like the credo states but suddenly something's become the Grey area. I think based on all of this unions will happen. Unions can't lower quotas or save jobs and cuts cause Verizon could still do that but AT&T is already union and based on Verizon changes being a tenured rep with Verizon does nothing but screw you over. Unions don't impact managers so go for it. I'll be gone anyways.

To the manager who just posted that: I'm with you. Call on my day off. Union dues are tax deductible.

I'm a manager (who will still be employed after this week) and I can't argue with any of it. The quota has been out of control for months, my reps aren't making money, I'm not making as much as I used to, this month the quota was just as absurd as last, and then we have more layoffs I'm going to have to deliver.

I've overheard my team whispering about "doing what they have to do" to get a good commission, and I know my SMs have starter turning a blind eye to it, electing to take a chance it sticks otherwise issuing OCCs later. I've heard the whispers about joining a union.

Even I am powerless to help. After this week, seeing what the rumors have done to my team, and seeing that nothing is happening to help them, I'm not stopping any of it. If they want a union, call the organizer and ask them to come on my day off. I know nothing about it. If they want to slam, I'm sorry mr/mrs customer, we had to take a shot, here's your account credit for the trouble.

Lol the credo is b---s--- if you sell with integrity you can't hit your quota. You

get Constantly yelled at by your direct supervisor, because you are not selling hum which would of been useful 15 years ago when vehicle services started out and wasnt a preexisting feature in most cars. Who cares about long term customers, when they already have multiple tabs and hums on the account. The almighty new reigns Supreme
