For those not impacted "yet"; communicate and state they are making selections fairly, just wait because your turn will come (or someone close to you will be impacted).
I was:
-
20 year employee with degree and certifications.
-
I received "Exceed" MPP's 18 of my 20 years of service. Fully Meets on the other 2 years.
-
Received the Key Contributor Award every year.
-
Nominated and received Star Performer Award the last 2 years
-
Completed ALL of the 2020 training by January 2015. And when I say ALL I did well over 200 courses in a year and half.
WHY I busted my butt to finish ALL that 2020 training is because THEY said if you want to keep your job that is what you need to do.
Does not matter.
If you organization is impacted I will tell you how they will make the selection. They will carve the top 2-3 with seniority making good money (close to qualifying for retirement) and then they carve 2-3 at the bottom of seniority. Why do you think they do that? I will leave that conclusion up to you.
So if that is how you fall within your team or organization, I would be worried. Your direct manager has no involvement. I had a new Manager/Director for less then 6 months. Once your name is selected by HR, doesn't matter. There is nothing that your Manager, Director or ED can do.
So please understand why some people that have been surplused communicate and state you are only a number.
Because you are.
