Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

How do union folk feel about having to pay for medical after the unions helped campaign and push for higher taxes for the plans you enjoy?

Cadillac health care plan gets an extra 40% tax on it. It's a major reason why Verizon needs concessions from you. Your unions helped the democrats push this punishment on companies as a way to fund Obama care.

Naturally companies then toss those plans rather than keep them.

Guess you guys didn't do a lot of thinking about that one.

looks like the union trolls are getting scarred.

Anyone who delights in the death of someone, is a really really sick scum bag.

The union should be shut down, or RICO, and all members canned.

Same with me. Depends on how many people I. The household. I have 4 and projected to make the same. Cutoff for 4 people is $48500. Plan for kids is child health plus and for my wife and I its called the essential plan. Kids have no deductibles or copays and my wife and I copays, scripts and deductibles are about the same. Have them do the application on the phone. Good luck

You might want to get someone on the phone. Got my wife and kids full coverage for $40 a month and my two kids for $24. Either you are a company troll and full of it or you need help with the application. I am in ny too.

Quick rundown for the OP......You are losing. Sometimes it may seem that youre winning. Yes, my union is not as strong as it was and yes....the orange troll may roll to the white house. But please know this...Very soon, you and your god, your guns, and your money will be on the run. The gravy train is gonna end real soon. Maybe not in your lifetime, but your children will see it. Live it up Chumsley....you and yours are on the clock.

Honestly, no one wants you back. Your attitude and demeanor prove what low-class, lackluster, incompetent, disgusting animals you all are. If a stray dog acted like 99% of the union members do, it would be tested for rabies and then put to sleep. Trust me, no one wants nor needs your ignorant a$$es back here. Enjoy your one meal of the day and sitting around your house with utilities cut off. You chose this, so I hope you all have the balls to see it through and stay out forever. But, when you come crying to daddy Lowell and promise him you will be good boys and take what he offers, just remember you've just proven your absolute ignorance. You poison any environment you're in, so go on and stay out in the rain walking your little circles. Leave the work to the real men who aren't afraid to work hard and support our families.

"We can take your jobs over."

Thats funny, I heard some managers walked out because they were tired of the companies bull$hit with all the forced 12 hour days, and even one committed suicide. Admit it, you are getting decimated and can't keep up! And even if you arent, you will be replaced eventually once the company has no further use for you.

@afa Here is one of your many satisfied customers that are spilling out into the media to rave about the service since the strike stearted.

One Verizon customer sent the following email to Patch on April 29:

“I signed up for new service today and the wait time for a technician in Staten Island is June 16. Over a month. Ridiculous. I asked a customer service rep if I could move that up and I sat on hold for a half hour when I just gave up.”

A Cherry Hill resident who wished to remain unnamed reached out to Patch with the following comment on May 2:

“I am a Verizon customer and recently got FiOS right before the strike and it as been nothing short of a nightmare. When FiOS was installed (Internet, phone and TV) on March 30, there was a problem with the phone line. I had a tech scheduled to fix the phone, but then the strike hit on the day the tech was supposed to come out (April 13). Of course, no one showed up. Several days later, 2 techs came to the house on April 17 and they didn't have a clue as to how to fix my phone, so they called 2 more techs to come and help. They were at the house from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the 4 of them completely botched my phone and made it even worse.”

She continued:

“Since then, I have spent close to 40 hours on the phone trying to explain my phone issues and to get techs to the house who can fix my phone… When I called to get a credit for the phone portion of my bill, they sent me to the Collections Department. I've never missed a payment on anything in my life and the bill isn't due until 5/16. They left a bunch of jerry rigged wires hanging from the ceiling in my basement, which are held together by a phone jack. I've never seen anything like it. It looks like a fire hazard to me.”

@CLS- the OP did not say anything about the union returning to work. He/she was wondering if the union membership realized that, by supporting Obamacare, they put themselves in a position where Verizon would be cutting their healthcare to avoid the Cadillac plan tax.

@cls, Didnt you know, these managers are being used and abused by the company like they were doing to their union counterparts, they are stressed, tired and worn out! Of course they are desperate for us to come back! Working 12 hour days 10 days a week drives one to the point of insanity!

You see the answer you get right? There are those in this union that will have nothing to do with accountability. It's not in their blood. They will pull the lever for whatever Communist is running.

Stupid is what stupid does.
