Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Just providing actual customer experience in VA.

I am a VZ customer who stumbled onto this board because my FiOs was running 4mb

down and 1.5mb up on a 75mb plan. Thought the strike would mean I would be out of luck for weeks. Called it in to tech support, they reset the router, which put it back to 75 up and 81 down on wifi, but because I couldn't get the Ethernet connection into the router to work, they dispatched a tech. He showed up 4 hours later, tested and fixed everything. He was not EWA, just a worker in VA who wants to keep his job.

VZ service has improved since the strike started, in my opinion.

You've made some sensable points -mff. Alot of juvenile insults on here. But I must contest your main assertion.

You will be back,,,, and don't you dare respond with "No I won't!"

I will NEVER access this site again so please know any responses will NEVER be seen by me! I have been telling myself to stop going to this site because 90% of what you see from both sides is ignorant, unintelligent, uninformed, rude and nasty posts and comments.. I'm embarrassed that most of the people on here work for the same company I do. I am a union member (scab or whatever you want to call me) and I am not out on strike. I could go into the reasons why I'm not out on strike but it's nobody's business so I wont. I see what's going on every day in my call center. Management is trying really hard and doing the best they can and are getting better. But they will agree I'm sure that we are the experts and there is much more to a call center position than they thought. We are Verizon to the customers and I take great pride in the job I do for Verizon and the customer. I feel I am paid well, treated good, respected and valued in my position and desevably so. Many customers are suffering in our (or your absence). They are not getting the quality of customers service they deserve. I know it is not rocket science but there is a lot to know to really excel at this position for the customers sake and Verizon's. Customers are not being offered upgrades or add on services that would benefit them and the company. Verizon is also losing revenue from new installs but I commend Verizon on putting the existing customers first during this strike. Existing customers are not waiting hours to get through as some posts have said and repairs are being done in a reasonable timeframe. But in order for us ALL to succeed this strike has to end. Verizon you need us to grow revenue and continue to be the leader of this industry. I have been in this industry a long time and know the competition inside and out. We are BY FAR the best. And that is not only because we have the best network and services but also because we have the best work force. Let us all get back to helping Verizon grow and prosper. Let's build out FIOS and make 3 billion per month 3 years from now. We all contribute (well most of us 😉) and benefit from Verizon's success. ✌

"I am a VZ customer who stumbled onto this board because my FiOs was ..."

ONLY people dumb enough to believe your story OP are the CWA dumbshits who think that Trainor and Mooney are going without while you're on strike taking it in the bung.

Hey don't judge every union member by the asshat on here. Yea I don't support gays, but I'd talk about them like that. I don't have anything against gays and I've never said nothing bad about them. It's not my business what anyone does in their beds, so just don't think the union is all like that guy

There seem to be an inordinate amount of homosexual managers around here. Is VZ turning gay to appease 2% of the population?

Well I guess we've just seen the true nature of union members. Whether you agree with the posters lifestyle or not, it's not up to you to be so offensive. It's interesting how most union members are Democrats, and supposedly liberal, but then have such narrow minded opinions when someone is different from them. I hope that you don't have any gay members in your families because if so, I can only imagine the torment they receive at your hands.

I don't always find myself on layoffs boards:

But when I do, it is because my FiOS is slow.

Stay thirsty my friends.

OP: So, you were out of service and "They" reset the router, and thus got the WiFi to return to magical speeds, but alas the wired ethernet would not connect? That is some F'ing magic. By the way, without googling it, what IEEE 802.11 protocol is your access point using?

"VZ service has improved since the strike started, in my opinion" Do tell of your prior experiences with (VZ) service". What is your benchmark pre-strike vs. post strike. This should be an interesting post.

No cheating, OP only...

qnb AKA "Queenie". I love it! It is 2016, but queer boys have been playing house for thousands of years. But every country or kingdom or 'queendom' that pushed the homo agenda onto their people have disappeared from history. The US will go the same route if it does not put a leash on the pervs. 2% of the population is a minority that would not be missed from polite society.

-qnb Queen Bee! That's perversely perfect. So what? While most of the stike assigned managers are out on the range rustling up dial tone, the fag brigade are playing rump-rangers. The LGBT f--s like BLM have definitely overplayed their hands and will all be back in the closet by this time next year once the pervert in chief is ousted.

@HBGutge-qnb homosexual, f----t, pervert. This 2016 and fag perverts have damaged this country and culture and really should get back into their closets.

No one cares who you diddle with, but people do care when you push your f----tism into our faces.

@vyz fag?? You really just used that on a public board? If I knew who you were I'd make sure that was the last time you used that term. If I can get the admin to unlock your IP, I'm giving it to the company. That term alone will get you fired. It's 2016, how about coming into the 21st century pal?

Yeah you googled verizon strike for a place to comment about your good service. Please. You'll convince no one that this is a real experience.

OP here. I'm a 88 year old woman and realized that I was dealing with Cablevision, not Verizon. I wandered out of my nursing home and after the local police found me, I regained some clarity and lucidity.

If any scabs are interested in changing my diaper when you get ejected soon, please feel free to contact me and the HR person at my assisted living center.

Good night.
