Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Corporate Stores

Most corporate union staffed stores will be replaced by authorized dealers.

That is why they now will soon have the same leadership to manage the transition. Most corporate store employees have 3 years until they are out of a job. AT&T wants 1 to 2 flagship company owned stores in each major city and the rest to become authorized dealers.

This makes it easier and cheaper to manage distribution and easier to strike break. Also once national retail is fully outsourced in 6 months they will see if it is successful and transition that to authorized retail and kick out the remaining 10% of account executives that sit on their behinds by end of 2017.

Well, it's a matter if research. Chicago I believe has been trialing without RAEs and it is been a success which leads me to believe the ARSMs role picks up some of the AE slack.

2 years ago this also happened when all of the NRFRs and RAMs were cut. The AE picked up the slack left by NRFRs and depending on the ARSM, they also picked up some of the RAM responsibilities.

It's common sense, when you eliminate a position it's not entirely going to stop operating. Someone will still need to visit the stores, if there are less AEs that will be done by the ARSMs. COR ARSMs technically do the equivalent job on COR side. Store visits, coaching, developing, escalations, approvals etc. The position will be absorbed so they can downsize. AEs will probably be entirely eliminated 2017 and they will probably increase ARSM headcount at the same time.

How do you know ARSM and DOS will assume those roles? Did you hear that from someone that truly knows the plan? Our DOS/ARSM have not been told anything more then the AE's have been told.

I didn't mean AE position is gone but it will have the most cuts than any other position with more to come. It has been written on the wall for years.

There isn't a source it's just research. Check the forms you are having to fill out and the special instructions in myCoach.

Check the focus areas they have during the visits and it's being outsourced to market source and Anderson merchandising.

AEs are not being entirely cut. They are being transitioned to a hybrid role. So yes, workforce levels will be downsized but the position is staying.

Exact opposite, att wants to run the authorized retail without the union and requirement of having employees. They are making it one and utilizing corporate leadership to run authorized retail and national retail.

But yes, AE's are being cut an ARSMs will assume the AE role and DOS will assume the ARSM role
