Retiree Phone Program. When I called the Benefits Center they told me each person can be different due to the legacy company they came from. For me I need 75 points (got them) and I get 25% phone discount, and the "opportunity" to buy my health insurance for about $1100 a month once my cobra ends, and a small ($4000) pension buy out. Not really much for 25 years of working.

I could not agree more with #Anonymous198750..... (I was Rif'd June 2014)....The Benefits associates ARE NOT Verizon employees, they read from a prepared script and just want to hurry up and get you off the phone. I was given erroneous information and called back a few days later (hoping I would not get the same rep...I did not) and was given corrected information. Put several reminders around your house / PC to update benefits at end of severance period or you will surely pay. "literally".

Be careful as to what you are told and reverify everything. Keep contacting benefits and ensure you have all of the PH numbers you will need (CALL OFTEN EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO ASK THE SAME QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER) and bookmark the benefits connection website on your home PC. My severance period runs out at the end of this month. I was on the phone with benefits on Monday as you will need to go into benefits connection at the end of the severance period. DO NOT FORGET THAT PART. If you do forget, you will automatically default to COBRA. To maintain my retiree health, dental, vision, through the VZ retiree program it was closer to $2000 / month. GOOD LUCK from someone who has been there.
