Boomers made Millennials. It's a vicious cycle. Boomers made them when they assumed power in university boards, ramping up the costs for an undergrad diploma.
Boomers spearheaded the job and production move initially to Japan, then to Taiwan, now (insert lowest bidder).
Boomers created our current political climate. Look up the corporate rate when Reagan was President. The saving grace is that we dont have the interest rate we had back then.
Boomers created Go90, Hum, and tried to push hard on IoT. Take a look at that last C-Suite regime that VZ had and where are they now?
Boomers took advantage of the tax cut from this current administration and in return wants to lay off 44,000. Surprisingly, this 44,000 didnt include the previous 10,000 let go before the VSP.
So many people want to discredit Millennials, but dont take the blame for a lot of the problems WE ARE ALL facing. There will still be Union slackers that make the hard working Union workers look bad. You will still have entitled younger men and women focus on social presence and agility instead of focusing on the task at hand.
Both of these groups need to come together and propose a new change in the current corporate climate. Both will lose or get taken advantage of if changes aren't made.
Look at it this way, the French are revolting because of a gas tax and changes to their means and ways of living. Think hard and long about that. The reason why that "European" CEO is now in charge is to take advantage of a broken system that we allowed them to manipulate.
For those left at VZ, take back your company.
