Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Providers!!!

The way this company allows these providers to speak to us is disgusting! They way they’re allowed to b!tch whine call us names mock us complain that everything is our fault……but theres no ASL and no immediate help. And the second we bite back because we’re enforcing the company’s F$cked up rulesAnd we’re the ones on the hook for it?!?! Unreal

I give one warning only and if they decide to ignore it right after, I immediately hang up. I refuse to be stressed out and take abuse, especially when it’s not our fault.

@ay how weird because I work in claims and get them approved all the time. I also find all the inconsistencies in the market and how we are illegally denying claims. That’s why Centene has paid hundreds of thousands to our local hospitals in back pay because we sc--wed up. Do your job better.

Fake empathy. Let the A.I. do the dirty work.

Providers can’t yell at AI. Sounds like you’re making a case to have your job replaced. Your job requires a certain level of professionalism and empathy. If you had either, maybe this won’t affect you as much. Otherwise you might be better served in another role or at a different company. Centene is for-profit, so I suspect it’s only going to get worse dear.

@b1 You condescending piece of cr-p! That “less talking, more listening” concept (philosophy) is what eventually gets people on high blood pressure medication.

And I am certain this corporation does not pay well enough to put up with verbal abuse 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, year after year.

Before you respond, remember, “less talking, more listening!”

@ax telling someone to chill when they’re getting verbally abused all because they’re following procedure is not okay! For the record i was until she got nasty because i told her what a supervisor said in a response. She acted like it was coming out of her paycheck and she was lose her house or something because this claim that another supervisor already dealt with wasnt paid! She was not a member she was someone who has a boss just like us and acted like a child

@as

Are you this emotional when dealing with people in a professional setting? Chill. It seems to be a really difficult position to be in, especially when dealing with decisions (out of your hands or not) that literally effect people's health and lives.

No one who's just doing their job deserves to be yelled at or cursed at.

Next time someone starts in on that unacceptable behavior toward you, just calmly tell them in a very matter-of-fact, professional, yet stern tone of voice, "If you raise your voice or use profanity again during this conversation with me, I will disconnect the call, and make note of your mistreatment of me in this case file. This is your one warning. Do you understand?" And then wait for them to respond. Hopefully they'll snap out of their fury after hearing that. Maybe they'll even apologize! Or maybe not.

But in stating that warning to them, if anytime afterward during the conversation, they start up with it again, you're then in a perfectly reasonable position to follow through with hanging up on them, and making a note in the case file of who you spoke with, and what they said to you.

No need to get emotional, or upset.
No need to argue with them or plead to be treated with respect.
People who behave that way have no respect for themselves, much less others.
This is their problem, don't make it yours.
Don't absorb other people's rage.
Deflect it, establish boundaries and consequences, and if that doesn't work: disengage.

@aq sc--w off! We’re not ki-ling people! Its not our fault that the company has certain rules to abide by! We cant change anything we have no power doesnt mean we need to get screamed at and cursed at! If this person could make the rules you think theyd be working here?!?!

@a9 The providers are literally fighting for their patients. If I was on the other end and you hung up on me when I’m fighting for a claim to get approved I would have your job. This is the biggest reason why I’m 30 days I leave Centene and will NEVER look back. I’ve spent 20 years in the hospital and can’t wait to go back. It’s gross what we are doing to these members. And I plan on sharing with everyone how corrupt this fu--ing place is when I leave.

We are the a--holes. Are you kidding me? Have you ever even worked in the medical field before? We literally ki-l people because we refuse to cover treatments or delay treatments and care that MEDICAL PROVIDERS order. You know the ones that actually went to school to treat patients. Su-k it up buttercup.

A health care provider (like a doctor or hospital) delivers the actual medical care. A health insurance provider Like Centene denies payment of government funds so they can make more profit. Thats the game. People are denied service and sometimes die. ....and we are the a--holes!

If I was being verbally abused by them I would hang up on them. No one deserves that kind of treatment.
