They have a new rule once you leave imperial you can’t even come back as contractors.

Well if you grew up on Imperial and Exxon Koolaid, you might want to or something.
But you are right, considering the quality of people who thrive in bigger corporations in general and not just Imperial, most places would be undesirable.

So not true, we brought back people who left in good standing. But if you eff up or just have a bad reputation all around, why would anyone want to take you back. And this is the same as other companies too.
It has been this way forever, unless there was someone at the very top pulling strings, you can never come back once you leave Imperial (or Exxon I believe for that matter).

I doubt that.
I am not sure how true that is....u might not be able to comeback as hatted contractor, but as a pool from an engineering company there is no issue thus far.
