You don't have to accept them, but I think that would be pretty d-mb, tbh. Like saying, "Please pay me less so I can keep working here." Who would do such a thing?
if they give your RSU conditional on a salary reduction, refuse it. :-)
There is no risk in accepting them they will RIF you regardless. The next RIFs will become more and more difficult especially when based on numbers. So it won’t matter

When RSUs are granted you need to ackowledge the grant at NB, if you don't do that RSUs are not granted. Suspicious you don't know this...
