Work has started affecting how I feel about everything outside the office. I need something to change before the stress follows me into every part of my life. Work should be about providing for me and my family, not about turning me into somebody they might want to walk away from.

@m9 Most likely will only be selected targeted individuals that are not middle level leader’s favorites, which they can use the RTO office policy to wear those targeted workers down to eventually resign, sooner than later.
The policy, and excuses will be made which, will exempt the favorites.

Exit interviews were developed to have a very experienced HR (and probably legal person on call) to get things nailed down with very clever ways of asking very specific questions and trying to get the right answers , which then they can use later in case you decide to hire an attorney to seek litigation against how you were treated with the corporation.
No good thing can come of you having an exit interview. It is to protect the company, not you.
@d4 were you able to address this in an exit interview?
@d4 do you feel like you might regret retiring now instead of waiting for the possible payout for a layoff? It’s really the only thing keeping me here. The extra money would be helpful for some things right now and to pay off one small bill, but I could make it work. I just keep thinking I’m leaving money on the table. It’s literally a daily battle between mental health and the extra money to make it a little easier.
I left last year taking ERP. I have not found another job yet. The market is brutal. Just a cautionary note. But I was so burned out I saw it as a lifeline. It sounds like things keep getting worse. I wish everyone the best of luck in whatever you decide to do.
@d4 The lower level managers or ADs are so low. This makes me wonder if these people are actually hired to be watchdogs. Taking credits of someone else's hard work, stepping down on associates who're actually contributing good work. Company rotten culture starts with these people. Of course, they're experts in kissing as--s, blindfolding senior leadership.
My friend told me his boss told them that there will be a mandatory return to office next spring if you live close to an office. This has me reconsidering sticking it out here. My mental health is already broken, to add in an office return, when we've proven over the last 6 years that (most of us) can work unsupervised. Why bring us back? So we can resume Zoom calls from the same room? That will be my breaking point.
I retired last week. The job with this new manager was making me sick. I am the second person to leave because of this same manager. I could not in good conscience keep working for this company. So many jobs outsourced now. Every time the leaders talk about taking care of our members makes me want to puke. Lies.
@cz I would never worry about typos on here. For one, some have dyslexia. For two, many of is are using our cell phones that have small keyboards and small screens. And some of us are typing comments in the middle of doing other things. So, basically, do not worry if some buttox retentive person calls you out on a typo. Who cares what they think.

@OP I feel the same way it’s been building for the last year. There’s been so many changes that make no sense and are so uncomfortable. I’ve had jobs. I didn’t like before we all have probably I’ve had bosses. I didn’t like before, but I’ve never had a job that made me feel this unhappy. I am really hoping there will be a layoff this fall. I need my job, but I don’t have to have it if that makes sense. My job is very important, but my husband could support us for a while what I want to continue doing that no and I’m well aware that that’s a lot better position than some people have. I haven’t left because I do feel like if they’re going to do an early retirement or if they’re going to offer layoffs, I’m leaving money on the table that severance package would be very helpful while I did look for another job and again, I am absolutely cognizant into the fact that there are others that under no circumstances would be able to leave without a job and would be in severe financial hardship. I have been looking for a job. Nothing has come up would not require me to either move or be in the office five days a week and for right now that’s not something that would fit into our lifestyle because we do live a great distance from town working remote at the moment is very important. Part of me feels like I should just leave now because I’m miserable, but then I get stuck thinking about the money that’s left on the table that would help so very much if I can just find a way to tough it out for the next few months in case there is a way off and then I realize that the stress and strength from this job has just froze my ability to even make a decision anymore, and I honestly don’t know what to do

Leadership about how much we are appreciated makes me do a major eye roll. Show is just how much you appreciate your workforce by giving us substantial raises like you did yourselves last year! I'm Not talking a piddly 3%. We all need raises that are equal to inflation and the one we didn't get last year. Especially since you have fired as many people as possible. Stop hiring top leaders we have enough of them!
@cf Regarding the typos, most likely we will hold those against you. But over time, maybe, just maybe, we might find a way to forgive you. Just kidding! No worries on the typos. :) Hard to message with just thumbs on a small phone keyboard at times.

Me too. I hate that because I feel so guilty about it. My family at home doesn’t reverse the way I am now because of a job. This is the only job I’ve had that has affected me the way this place has. Have a I had other jobs I disliked? Sure, but I have NEVER felt so low or treated so horribly by any other job I have had. I’ve been looking for a new job and hopefully I will find one and everyone here will too. I’m in therapy now and I’ve had to get on anti depressants and anti anxiety meds all because of my job. My psychiatrist wants me to find something else too. Just know you are not alone. Just do not think that things will get better. Move on when you can. I have only watched things get worse and worse through the years. Do not hesitate to jump on a new opportunity, because they will replace you without hesitation. I’m sure they plan for as much or all of the company to be replaced with offshore and AI in the future. There is no r we l future here for any of us.
@am What you said, as to your concern, used to be mainly something only those in law enforcement had to worry about, as to how the job would affect home life and family.
Now, it is also those that work in health insurance. Stop and think about that for a minute.
This is the point at which c-suite has brought us.
Same- I left because of the same reason and have zero regrets.
I am making less money but don’t care, I am happy
