My wife was relieved- i slowly became a negative and s--tty person while at Oracle. Once I was RIFed, it's like I snapped out of a dark spell.
These last 2 layoffs caused me a lot of stress. I am aggressively adding to my emergency fund for my peace of mind. I think Oracle will do these heavy layoffs every 6 months or so for the foreseeable future.

Indian media is helping by spreading the layoffs news like wild fire that even 4 yr olds nephews are providing sympathy.
Mine is supportive and concerned about my mental health, but asks me "why do you stay at that dumpster fire of a company?" My answer is I am too close to retirement to look for another job - I'm just holding on until I can "ask" to be laid off.
For any of you youngsters out there thinking about joining Oracle - DON'T DO IT - there's no upside. If you do, stay 3 years, no more.
My wife left me. She took the kids and the dog. She went back to her mother’s. The house is empty without them. That’s OK, though, because I have to sell the house.
A job is a job, I can get another job if this one fails.
@OP I am lucky cause my wife has H4 visa, and she has a business running on a side, otherwise with my H1B I woud be sc--wed.
