Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Why Nike lost 78% value

When you tie executive compensation to a goal like this, you get results that we have today.

2025 Targets - 50 percent representation of women in global corporate workforce and 45 percent in leadership positions.

Leaders hired on on basis of their gender are spread through the org from SLT to first level managers. The cancer has spread throughout the org. WON won, NKE lost.

We need large layoffs every year and need to hire back based on merit.

@c7 Nah, fu-k that, if Republicans are going to stop buying because Nike is anti-racist, then what makes Republicans. Yeah, it's obvious when you put it like that isn't it.

@ae As a women myself I question where these ELT women are hiding, they come out once or twice a year as cheerleaders. What blinders are you wearing the ELT women are equally responsible for the downgrade of Nk. Cant blame it all on the white man he is a puppet of the board. The ELT women ride around on their swoosh brooms around the globe racking up expense reports. Honestly cant thi k of a single thing the ELT women have done that helped my work. So many Nk women just trying to notch fheir way up and all they do is flap their jaws all day while a few of us bust a-s to keep the lights on These women cant even flush a toilet they leave their sh-t all over campus.

@OP and that decision lead to,

Getting too involved in social/political issues.

Remember - republications buy sneakers too

Focus on sports and don't use Nike for preaching your political views. Keep your virtue signalling in your private life.

On top of that the value destruction happened because BOD/SLT did stock buybacks at inflated prices and now when the price is low, there's no money left to repurchase stock. Why are they not fired for these epic failures of judgement.

FY 2026: $146 million
FY 2025: $2.985 billion

This train left the station back in 2017, we just didn’t feel the effects until we installed someone who wasn’t good at covering up mistake and use to running the books tight and focusing on gross margin.

We were cooked the moment the ‘17 reorg happened, we just didn’t recognize it.

@OP what are you trying to say? It’s the women at Nike who caused the decline? Last time i checked the CEO who made the strategic mistakes was a white male, not able to listen to the few female leaders who tried to reverse course. EH has a few great female leaders in his team; not sure about his male staff…
