Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Good news

It's Friday and this is the first full week that I am not working for a company that doesn't appreciate the value that at least one employee brought to a company's customer where we always kept the customer's well being top of mind. I was in the OCI org in North America, and I would be lieing to you if I told you that I had a great relationship with my manager who I would call today a true id--t -- he would be a great engineer but an incrediblly stupid manager and the irony is they kept him haha. Sorry for my ex-peers that are stuck with him.

Anyone working for Oracle right now I hope has a second job and just is ripping the company pretending to work there. Best part of working in the Burlington office years ago was the breakfast. Great food, sh---y culture.

I didn’t make it through the RIF. Monday was hard. A few tears, and hits of relief. As the week progressed I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. No “Sunday scarries.” tonight. While I realize everyone’s situation is different, for the first time, in a couple years, I feel hopeful for the next phase. Jobs are important but lives are more important. I feel for everyone affected and hope you find some peace and hope through the fog that descended upon us this week.

Customers are just an obstacle to be overcome in order to obtain revenue.

How does one plan anything when the specter of layoffs is constant.

Lot of upper management is there thanks to their brown nose and their politics. Greener pastures await.
