MDT benefits and salary are part of total compensation for the employee. So what you are saying is poppycock. Even MDT knows not to mess around with already agreed upon total compensation - it's called a employee contract.
You need to get educated. Being nasty to people because they don't want to make their whole life around a company job is tragic. I hope you get therapy.

Mdt does not love anyone. It's a company. You are trash taking people because they have figured out mdt does not reward loyalty or invest in their employees as much as they claim.
Like people have already pointed out. It's just a job. You are paid for a specific number of hours. You do your best work in those hours. clock off and live your life outside of mdt.
You are replacable at MDT. You are not replacable at home.
The op is saying this. Mdt has a culture of pressuring people to work to the bone. That is not healthy. It's modern day slavery.

Medtronic is a company. You are paid a salary for a number of hours. in exchange you provide a service for that money within the allocated hours.
That is how a job works.

@OP, agreed. The best years of my Medtronic career commenced after I realized this and started favoring life to a wide margin in the work/ life balance equation.
In this company you learn that ladder climbing boot li---rs sell their lives and souls, and end up burning out. Slackers and cheaters maintain gainful employment while their hard working collleagues who pull the weight get RIFd.
THAT was when my perspective changed. I started doing just enough to keep my reviews positive, stopped ki-ling myself to meet artificial deadlines imposed by management who thought poor planning on their part should equate to an emergency on my part, and shut down at 8 hours even if the deadline had passed.
