Charlie wants to increase headcount so he can turn around and immediately decrease headcount. It’s all the twerp can do - cut staff.
There's no gap in the South, so you're probably right, it's the d-mb move HY will make. They probably couldn't find the south of a map. Maybe West Palm, but that's it.
Read the news, WF is taking a swing at acquiring Regions to fill a Deep South gap in its branch footprint and add more deposits to re-deploy into the black holes of chasing M&A.
@bw just a tad dramatic. You act like Wells is Enron or Lehman Brothers or something.
@bm why? It would never happen. JPM doesn't want a traditional wirehouse. They want FAs in banks and a private bank, that's it. They don't really want standalone FAs paid on commissions.
@c7 unless your JPM and can pick up First Republic for pennies.
Bank mergers are prohibited for banks who hold 10% or greater of the nation’s deposits. No larger bank can acquire Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo is very limited in what banks they can acquire.
Charlie wants a new group of employees to te--orize with biweekly layoffs lmao. Feel really sorry for the employees at any soon-to-be acquired banks.
Abandon hope, all ye who enter Wells Fargo
Shart can buy something so he can layoff more American workers.
Wells Fargo is broken beyond repair. The BOD needs to work on salvaging what remains before the shareholders lose everything. If they do nothing, this will not end well.
I'd like to see the brokerage sold to jp morgan and a merger of the bank with a larger firm.
A merger could make sense for WF, but it would have to be a regional with a strong presence in the rust belt and/or the NE. Nothing else would bring much benefit. Shart and Co would figure out a way to mess it all up, and of course any non-sales people working for said bank would be downsized.
For a big bank (like JP or Wells) and anyone else, yes.
For a regional bank or community bank, no.
