I need this job. I have a chronic disease and I can't afford being without either income or medical. Having to worry about more layoffs every single day has been only making me feel worse. It's not humane to expect us to deal with so much stress all the time. Is there even a small chance we'll go back to occasional layoffs instead of this constant threat of cuts any time soon?

wow that's pretty pathetic. don't let them (your manager) sense your desperation else you're sc--wed.
@OP with AI push or hype, i believe things will not change for better.
If you could build agents hype them and move to next level or find out side with that hype.
Companies seem in no mood to listen to anything non ai.
You see, the current situation is favorable for our senior leaders. Anything else may mean slightly less compensation and we arent having that.
The trifling concerns that us peons deal with aren't even a minor blip in the big picture.
